That ks for sharing your thoughts! I actually like my style but when I see people with cool and funky art I want to try it as well to see how I like it or if I can borrow some of their aesthetics for my normal style ^^ I think that's the main point of experimenting ^^

This video is actually quite helpful. I, too, have been feeling stuck with my style and often envy other artists' styles, which has resulted in me not wanting to finish a single work as of late. But I've been getting better after trying and not worrying about being "perfect", and it's really refreshing. Not to mention, I enjoy watching speed paintings while working to learn new techniques that I can use to my drawings. amazing video Kuro as always ! learned more things in a few minutes.

I love your artworks and its incredible to see you able to break down your art process and style to make an "opposite" version of it.

Thank you! ☺️ yes, actually my art blocks are mainly caused by my mind, cycling between people's expectations and my own over thinking. When I see art style as some sort of goal I have to achieve I will never be happy because it's not achievable. Learning is endless and so the development of an style. Knowing this helped me to be more free and less stressed about the performance :) I am wishing you all the best and thanks again for your comment :3

Ahh, Kawaii version of Rin! He turned out really cute! It's really impressive being able to have dramatically different styles! This is such a useful video because I really wish I had developed an art style sooner. Though, I still wouldn't say I have one fully set in stone yet, it would probably a lot further along had I studied specific artists sooner. But I appreciate the experience of having gone through it, since I was actually thinking about this recently. My way of drawing certain characters has evolved a lot in just a year and now I'm a lot more confident when it comes to drawing them than I was in the past. I sometimes get worried that maybe my way of doing things isn't really what the algorithm likes, but I just have to find a way to make it work!
@kurohshiro8 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me! I agree on that. Nothing is for nothing when you can say it like that. Everything is some sort of learning even if it means going back to things we used to do and continue from there again. After more than 1 year of taking digital art more serious, I am still taking my time settling my artstyle (since I do the similar things you showed in the video, learning different styles from different artists. And honestly it works wonderfully for me). There are a lot for me to learn and pratice that I need to do to get there, your video is like a good guidance for me in my art journey. Personally, I love both of the drawings but I refer your artstyle more! I love the balance between realistic style and anime style you have, my artstyle goal is something similar to that.
@kurohshiro8 ай бұрын
Oh thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts with me! Right, art styles are always somehow influenced by something which already exists but it's the skill of the artist personality to make it something very special and unique. I always open references when I draw, may it be art by other people or pictures. This influences me as well and even if it's only subconsciously, it's forming my current art style and yeah, it's nothing more than learning what works and what we love to draw (in a certain way) :) thanks for your comment ^^
@nanamitakagi27028 ай бұрын
Yes, it's about finding the most suitable way for us in drawing. I used to draw without reference thou, but after watching other artists using reference (especially you when you combine the references instead of just going for exactly one reference at the time) inspires me to do the same. I'm getting used to that, there is still room for improvement.

I've been experimenting with different styles for the past 2 years, including yours, especially focusing on facial features and proportions. It's been a lot of fun. ☺️ Anyway, I prefer your style to the "evil version" because it looks more mature and has a color palette that smells like autumn light and mist (and not like candy and cotton candy). I don't have/haven't found artstyle yet 😅 I experiment in every drawing and that is why my art always different. However, my inspiration is Toni Infante, his style is a mix of west and east, and I love his shapes very much though I still struggling drawing simple shapes (sounds simple but is actually the hardest part 😅)
@kurohshiro8 ай бұрын
ahh simple shapes are soo hard to make look right because there's nothing where you can hide mistakes. So I understand your point. I am struggling with chibis lol they seem so simple but actually they aren't. So it takes time to find a style especially when it's something rare or new (like for me drawing chibis)
@zeldinart7 ай бұрын
@@kurohshiro Yes, chibis are hard. They look easy, simple and cute but honestly they aren't 😅 try drawing 2 chibis interacting and they will make you throw your tablet 🤣

In my point of view art style is more like how an artist observes real life beings and reflects them on paper each time i grab the pen my workflow changes help
@kurohshiro8 ай бұрын
Oh I understand this. I guess that's the point that an art style provides some sort of safety but observing really life is so so important. It's a needed skill to be able to simplify things (which then become an art style). Applying this knowledge of real life is difficult but therefore we can study how other artists are doing this. How artist xy is simplifying a hand or an eye etc. I think this takes time :)

Hello. I really like the way you draw...but I'm still learning how to draw anime. I wish I could draw as softly as you. I tried to paint with your brushes. but it turns out so-so. I guess I draw more roughly.

That's okay! The tools aren't making the art in the end but they can help to carry a certain aesthetic or look. I think when we start out with something completely new then it won't look good at the beginning. Or it does but the following 20 pieces doesn't. And that's okay and part of the learning process. So please take your time. I am sure you're doing amazing :)

Whoa, each time I think I comprehended how cool you're, Kuro-san, you manage to surprise me! Rin was already heart-melting bishounen, and now you turned him into the cutest blueberry mochi UwU. Also your kitty avatar is absolutely adorable, I hope to see again :3 It was supposed to be the 'evil' challenge, but it turned out to be the 'sweet' one :D Also I find it informative how you break down other styles and implement their aspects. You can watch speedpaints for days but that won't help if you don't realize what exactly you like in an artist's style and how to recreate that. So thank you a lot, Kuro-san, I'm extremely glad I found you, your art and videos teach and inspire me more than you could think ♡(>ᴗ•)

Gosh your comment made my day! That's absolutely sweet of you ☺️ that's true! It's not that evil haha but that's actually the hilarious thing about it lol also I agree with you on the part with the speedpaints. When I really like a certain style I am more able to analyse it and tel what exactly I like about the art. I think this knowledge is very important. It's easier to understand things we appreciate ^^

Hey!

This is pretty helpful though, sometimes i really want to rake more than just two things from one artstyle and then it just becomes copying😭 i believe i lack creativity
@kurohshiro8 ай бұрын
Nahh! That's not a lack of creativity because you are adding your very own touch and handwriting to the copied style. And we learn so so much by copying others and making them our own and justing them to our own habits, standards and life. Not only in art but also when we learn a language or walking ^^

Gotta say, my toppings are all over the place. I think my pizza wants to be a burrito, a hotdog and a toast instead of a pizza. At this point I kind of gave up on the whole art style thing and I try to focus on just being satisfied with whatever that pizza morphs into.
@kurohshiro8 ай бұрын
That's such a wholesome mentality and mindset. I agree with this. Be whatever you want to be, burrito, wrap whatever. And actually it's not important to find a term for your style but more a whole experience of visuals, methods and fun :) that's much more important than a label like "pizza" aka "my art style is only using desaturated colours and I only draw men"
