I just want to say thank you so much as an artist who grew scared of drawing because I started to hate the drawings I make. You helped me get through a huge art block and I will be forever thankful

Ahh that's awesome! I am so glad you continue to draw. There are some low points and they might feel endless but once endured motivation is coming back. At least that's what I believe ^^
@ItsJustLissetYep11 ай бұрын
Im so glad you added all the references you used, sometimes I feel kinda bad for using too many references, like if I was doing something wrong (even tho I know it’s totally okay) or like if I couldn’t draw without them, I feel kinda like an imposter, but seeing you using them for everything make me feel so boosted and inspired! Thank you ❤
@kurohshiro11 ай бұрын
Oh actually using many references is really good! It trains your ability to obersve images and it's easier to understand the core fundamentals of how things work. For example if I would just use one reference for a knee I would be able to draw the knee as it is shown in the reference but not really from another angle. And the more I collect the faster I learn the whole thing :) and you won't accidentally copy stuff ^^ so everything is fine with using them. I am glad I could encourage you :)

And it's not about copying my process 1:1, i mean you could but I thinks it's way more helpful to take the things you like and try them for yourself and see if they are working in your process :) when I see people's methods I copy them and when I like they way of working I implement it into my own art process ^^ it's like your skill set :)

I love to read youtube comments omg, your kind words reminded me of that. I am flattered. I noticed this as well, some people make Art look so easy to do and for some it's a bit more complicated. But the effort and will to try again and again is visible and will show results in form of improvement, slower than others maybe, but still improvement. I am struggling with my art a lot. I sued to make 3 illustrations of that quality a week. Now it's only 1 per month. So yeah, thing change but it'll be alright. Again thanks for letting me know your story and thoughts. I am wishing you all the best for your art 🙇♂️😌

hi I always love watching your content and I just wanna ask about one previous tutorial of you not doing lineart which I think saved some time, I just wanna ask is lineart that important or you don't hv to necessarily do it? cause I'm lazy af and I'm still learning so,..
@kurohshiro11 ай бұрын
Hmm..good question actually. I noticed that it saves some time in the long terms in my personal process. The unsureness of not knowing where exactly something belongs to is stressing me out. So I have these 3 major steps: sketch, when I am happy I move on to the next step: lineart and then finally rendering. And only when I am completely happy with 1 step I love on. This way I don't have to correct tons of things afterwards because I was too eager to render ^^
@notsoptimistic11 ай бұрын
@@kurohshiro I see! I do think illustrations look cleaner with lineart but I didn't notice much difference in yours cause your sketch lines could be mistaken for lineart bcs it's not too messy like mine. I think, what I need to do is practice to be patient with my work before moving onto the next step!

@kurohshiro11 ай бұрын
Thanks! One brush is pretty soft but can make hard edges as well. A good alternative would be a hard airbrush. This sounds contradicting but you can adjust the standard airbrush and it's hardness :) it also has some sort of blending or smudging effect. The other brushes are textured watercolour brushes which make a nice effect for metal and skin. Hope this helps you! 😊

When you're laying down shadows do you use multiply layers or do you manually choose the shadow colors? This video helped me a bunch thank you ✨
@kurohshiro11 ай бұрын
Hey! I dislike working with multiply layers in my character shading because it always messes up with the colour picker. I choose them by hand and adjust them when needed. When I work with multiply I make sure to merge it back once I am happy with the result :)
@mxhunterxx11 ай бұрын
Your art style is amazing! Question, how do you adjust colors once you put on the all the layers of the rough color? It seems like it would be hard to adjust once you have already gone to that step? Sometimes my art feels too saturated and I need to lower lighting, so how do you handle it?
@kurohshiro11 ай бұрын
Hi! Actually Saturated and desaturated Art styles do look nice. I think it depends on the execution and colour combination. I love to have subtle hints of Saturated colours and 90 percent dull colours while some others have 90 percent Saturated and 10 percent desaturated colours. Anyways, the rough colour is rough because it's easy to throw in some new colours when I am not happy with what I got. And if this doesn't help I adjust it via colour adjustments all at once or by selecting areas. But I just move on to render everything when I am completely happy with what I got. Hope this helps :)
