One of the best explanations of passion I've found was actually from an article talking about why finding your passion is flawed, and that's because "a passion is a thing that makes you come alive, that you don't realize other people aren't interested in or even necessarily care about." Which is to say, if you're trying to find your passion, you've failed before you even started.

Im glad I found this video. This is something I have really been struggling with. As a mother of 4 whose children are growing fast and are almost all at school I found myself in the position of not knowing what to do with my life. I have been a stay at home mother and that was my purpose for a good decade. Now I need to move forward and find something that extends beyond the home, something personal for me. I was a college student when I had my first child so never really started a career, so have a blank slate in a way. I answered your questions and found that baking and decorating cakes was my passion, it brings me joy and I find that I can lose myself for hours while decorating a cake. My friends and family compliment my skills also. I think I may start looking into gaining qualifications so that I can work in a bakery or cafe of some kind. Thank you for your help

i think my purpose in life is to help others and learn to find my strengths inside my weaknesses. maybe it's already the time where i should walk out of my comfort zone and face my fears and really find my worth. 😊😊💞 thank you for this video! i'm so sad and down these days so i think i should probably forget about those things that makes me feel worthless 😘

I love this! I remember it used to be almost physically painful for me when I didn't know my purpose. I wanted to know so badly. And, the joke is that it was always just in front of my nose. It was also so simple that I was blinded by it because I had over-complicated it in my mind!
@crowsnest.88024 жыл бұрын
i think my purpose, for now, is "using what i have to inspire change in the world". it's really short and concise, but i want to use my abilities and make use of the resources available, to be able to light up a fire in people's hearts to be the best person they can be. in that way, a chain reaction event will happen so that the world becomes a better place overall.

I always wanted to help people by giving them valuable service.. I wanted to be my own boss. Meeting new people.. visiting new places..and earning good amount of money by being helpful to others.. I found that my life purpose is to be a Feng Shui consultant... I can happily say that am doing what gives me satisfaction...🦄

i can't thank you enough, seriously. came here from the ikigai video. I've heard before about it. I really love your way to organize concepts with .. the "tools, compass, vision and impact" thing. just right omg that was all I needed to finally have a mindset. if that makes sense. thankyouthankyouthankyou, wishing you the happiest and loveliest things

OMGG I don't know how you come up with these videos, but you are so intelligent!! I would've never been able to come up with these... I recently started watching your videos and you helped me so much in my life. You have so much answers to my questions. I watched many of your videos and I've become more confident and learnt to love myself more. Thank you so much

I think these questions are really good!they somehow opened my eyes!I don't know whether I did it correctly or not but I found out that my purposes are these things: Help people to have healthy mind and body ... With being a nurse or a doctor I can cure people's body and with music I can make them happy... So I decided to continue practicing piano and also my English language and try to be a nurse and at the end apply to my favorite country and do all of them... What do you think? Did I do it right?

Hi @Lavendaire, It seems I'm pretty late, but I only just discovered your channel. I think this might be one of my first ever public comments on KZbin (I'm a bit shy), but I really wanted to thank you for this video and post. It was exactly what I was searching for. This year (2017) I've made the resolution to really take care of myself and take control of my life, so I'm trying to develop good habits, but I didn't define a more concrete high-level vision for what I want to do with my life. I filled in the list of questions, and though I don't think there are any big revelations for myself, it felt good to write it down. After I was done, I read the rest of your post and I was amazed at how similar your purpose statement is to mine (Especially the first part). I also have a desire to express myself in many creative ways (writing, music, visual art...), and people are always saying you should choose. ("Don't be a Jack-of-all-Trades, master of none!") But I wouldn't mind being a kind of "homo universalis", and it just made me happy to see another example of this. :) Also the rest of your statement is beautiful. I believe you have found your purpose and are going for it: you are truly shining in your videos! Looking forward to watching all of your work. ;) Lots of love!

Yey finally I know what is my purpose life. Because of the questions, I can clearly see what it is. What is my compass, my tools, my vision and impact that I want to do. So, my purpose life statement is "Serving humanity to end poverty, hunger and inequality education, to increase quality of education, health and women empowerment around the world". Thankyou so much lavendaire :))

I want to help bts because they struggle alot in life with showing their true selves and it hurts knowing their not the same ppl on screen that i see and i would like to talk to them personally and give them advice and comfort💕
but what if I'm generally bad at the things I want to accomplish? I would love to be dermatologist but science is my ultimate weakness. is that still possible??
@Shubham-iu8nn7 жыл бұрын
It's Jade I guess then you need to rethink that why do you really want to do that. It's okay if we are bad at something we can fine the alternatives. I think going to the root of why you want to be dermatologist would help you to get to the new path if not dermatologist. I mean if anyone loves drawing but is terrible at it then graphic designing is also an option. Also consider your strengths. You can go way too fast if you are in that field. ✌

If you're struggling to figure out what brings you joy, what your strengths are, and how you want to contribute to the world, that could indicate an underlying mental illness such as depression. Mental illness can make it very difficult to answer these questions. You doing okay?
