For me, I stopped trying to find ”my passion and purpose” and embraced the idea that my purpose is to live in the present moment with whatever I do. So if I’m at dinner with my son, my purpose is to eat with my son and be his mother in that moment. If I’m working on an important project at work, my purpose is to be focused and try my best to get it done in that moment. I have multiple purposes and it makes life so much easier.

Most likely nobody has just one purpose or role. And relationships are important, especially a parent-child one when you have a huge influence on a minor's life! Legally, a child could "divorce" their parent from a certain age (at least in the US), and parents could abandon children. But even when children are old enough to choose their own lives, from what I've seen, they never really forget their parents (or if they never met a parent, the fact that their parents must've existed at some point in time). In my opinion it takes up a substantial portion of their psyche. So thank you for being present for your child 🥺 To all parents, teachers etc taking care of younger ones, let's not blame ourselves for every little imperfection. Those of us who decided not to play a role as (pseudo) parents, you're still connected to others. We all have connections, and we all matter to each other (my personal belief).

i think my why is very similar to yours. i hate working a full time job in restaurants, it isn’t fulfilling in any way and i feel like it is just takes up all of my time. i already know an office job wouldn’t be any better. it took me so long to realize i don’t have to have any crazy talents in order to be successful. i learned i can use my simple hobby (houseplants;) as a CAREER. i want to travel the world and i simply can’t waste any more time working for others, so restricted in so many ways. right now i am still working in a restaurant until i make more profit from my business

As a 20-year-old girl, I want to pursue the activities that bring me joy. I want to go with joy. Living joyfully is what I consider to be successful in life. That's why, even though I'm battling uncertainty, I always grin at myself in front of the mirror every time I get up in the morning. Early in the morning, I have a habit of telling myself things like, "I'm glad to see dawn." That means I have the chance to attempt. Anyway , I admire you a lot.❤❤❤

I think a lot of us put so much pressure on finding our purpose or meaning in life and seeking others to help us to organize or structure our own lives…when we can flow in acceptance and in mindfulness with gratitude. I believe life has its moments but it’s lessons behind them. I stopped dreaming so much because I only disappointed myself. I tried being creative but lived the harsh reality of it financially and career-wise too so I now realize it’s better to be safe than sorry. I’m sad and depressed but financial independence and stability is all now that I dream of.

Thank you so much for mentioning that FAMILY can be you why & your purpose! Everyone is so career and money driven. It uplifted me to hear you say that it’s fine & great for family to be a priority over money. After 15 years in corporate banking - I quit to stay home and work a remote job part time. I’ve never been happier. Yes we had to give up some luxuries- less shopping and eating out etc (strict budgeting). but it’s sooo worth it 💝. You provided some needed validation 🙏🏽

As a 30 year old, I never thought I'd still have to be looking for my purpose/life path. But this is exactly how I've been feeling lately! I hit all the marks of what I expected my life to be when I was in my 20s. I now live in a different country and my whole world got flipped where I'm basically starting over again, navigating a new cultures/language and I don't know where to even begin! I feel like I lost my self/sense of purpose while trying to integrate.

Thank you for this video Aileen! 💕 I’m 26, 27 in few months and I feel so lost in life, I know what I want but it’s been a struggle, I feel like I’ve wasted my 20’s trying to “fit in” and dreaming of a good life rather than take action! I guess it’s a journey and only now I’m learning about myself and what I really want ❤

My why is travel. Travel excites me. Yes I work to pay bills but long term I want the freedom to just pick up and go. I’ve always wanted to go to Europe so I planned a European cruise for next year and I’m so happy. That’s my motivation now.
@mirandaalaine Жыл бұрын
I always put the "why" behind my actions. It helps me feel like I'm in control of my life and destiny. If there isn't a clear goal behind it, it's not for me. Why am I prioritizing my physical, mental, and spiritual health? So I can enjoy the best that this life can offer with minimal worry and fear. Why am I choosing to eat well and exercise? To support this goal to the best of my ability. Why do I need a proper sleep schedule? To support my brain and to support this goal. Why am I exercising? Again...to support this goal. Who am I doing it for? For me and the people I love. When I am at my best, others benefit too. We're all worth it. I want to live in a world where everyone's light is on, and it starts with me doing my part and turning mine on. We think so so similarly, it's crazy. Peace and love.🦋

Hello Aileen! I use the lined pages in your Artist of Life Workbook for: 1. Book list (Books I've read last year, and current year) 2. Wishlist (Things I want to buy, or will reward myself with if I achieve my goals) 3. Good Investments (New things I have bought that were good investments and/or use often) 4. Favorite Quotes (any new quotes I read/hear that impacts my mindset) 5. Things I've learned about myself (for building self-awareness) 6. Hacks/Tip (any new info/tricks I learn for each category: Fitness, Health (sleep, diet), Chores, Budgeting, Personal growth, etc...) 7. Deaths (people who have died that year...I know that's morbid, but I like to keep records of that) I have used one of the dotted pages for a Period tracker, and a period review (to describe what each menstrual cycle was like and all of the symptoms I felt, to compare each cycle and find patterns) Have you ever thought of adding a "NEEDS" category to your weekly journal so people can list all of the things they "need" for the week like grocery or supplies? I add it to mines to make sure I buy things I ACTUALLY need instead of want. It helps me stick to the budget...I also add a food diary, and health section (in a daily journal) to track what I eat to see if any foods may be causing any ailments I feel....just throwing ideas out there 🙂

I’m currently working and not going to uni while my friend the same age has a university life,student struggle and all. Kinda jealous,I can’t go to uni but I guess I'm going to uni late in my 22/23.The obstacle that I have is probably MYSELF(I am extremely pessimistic, overthink, and care about other critics) and financially(duh everyone has that😢but still the struggle itself is real). My brain can't stop thinking about my purpose, passion, and life path. Even though I am thinking of going to Uni and taking my chosen course I don't know if that decision was right. My purpose? What is that? I can't find it. My passion? Well, that is even more confusing for me. My life path? I just hope the flow that I follow is not going to make me regret it. Since I AM the one that MAKE THE DECISION I DO NOT WANT TO REGRET IT I WANT THE BEST for MYSELF

I also want to note that your MBTI / personality may change over time as you're living it and getting clearer on who you are & want to be. That's, like you said, the beauty of change. In my early 20s, I was an ENFP, in my mid to late 20s I was an ENFJ, and now I'm an INFJ. Just because I'm more introverted now it doesn't mean I'm anxious or shy. Introversion has very little to do with anxiety, being quiet, or shy. It really comes down to your values. Introverted is more so I value my alone time. I love doing things alone. I have a safe space. I need alone time to recharge. I love being alone it's not lonely, it's comforting. I was terribly shy, timid, and quiet at a teen, and I didn't want to be that way. I consciously changed so I can be more open and able to speak, have confidence, etc which led me to eventually be extroverted. I valued that for a period of time, but now I can take a step back because now I have different values thanks to growth. Now I value having a small circle of friends and my alone time, etc.
@lavendaire2 жыл бұрын
that makes sense! i also think it's growth when you learn to balance out and understand what doesn't come natural to you-like an introvert learning to be more extroverted, or extroverted learning to embrace introversion with age.

I have a chronic illness (autoimmune) and I have such a hard time thinking up a dreamlife without thinking of "Oh, but I can't do that because of my problem." Anyone been through something similar? I'd love to hear tips on how to defeat this mindset. ☹️
@libragem9 ай бұрын
Maybe not similar, but I went through cancer, surgery, treatments in 2017 (treatments ended 2018). What helped me through my physical challenges were .. the loving relationships I had with people close to me. Focusing on what you do have that you love is what I recommend (even something superficial, like your face, hands, feet, nails, idk, purse or fancy house keys? to your talents, inner strengths, knowledge, artistic sense, interests.. really anything) 🥰 To not get dragged down by negative self talk, it might help to remind yourself of the small "wins" you've had till now, as a Lavendaire video suggested (years ago.. I'll go look it up and try to edit this). Please be proud of having dealt with a medical challenge and having persevered till now, and your desire to make your life and everything connected to it better and happier! (Now I'm remembering how one shot gave me nausea for 2 weeks and headaches for 30 days straight😵) I hope someone with a condition or past experience similar to yours will find your comment and reply 🤍🍵

It's definitely important to know what your why is by questioning the things you value and the sort of life you want to have. I've always known that I love the arts such as writing and also having a passion for women's empowerment and being a humanitarian. In knowing your why though, what I have learned is to go easy on myself with the process. You can know your why but still not be where you want to be. So in pursuit of your why, I'm learning that it will take time to manifest that life that I want and that's okay.

Now, I'm just sitting here scrambling on that paper and tossing it to the trash to start all over again. I know I wasn't meant for that corporate job I hate so I resigned. I am not meant for that degree I enrolled because other people expected me to be. I know I am meant for something that aligns my values in life that would make me want to get up before sunrise without an alarm with purpose and a passion. I put a lot of regret and pressure in myself that sometimes I forgot I'm still 21.

When I was younger, I've always been good at and drawn to arts and music but as I got older and got busy in univ (to pursue my dream back then and my career now), I feel like my talents back then went down the drain. Now I feel like I've stressed over and wasted my energy when I was younger in pursuing this career that doesn't even make me happy now.

This video. Lately I've been really thinking about changing A LOT because I don't like where I am currently in life and I don't know who this person is in the mirror and I've been letting my emotions take over more than I'd like so my why right now is finding me. I also want to journal more so I may end up getting one of the Artist of Life journals soon. Thank you for doing what you do! I need to watch your channel more because it helps! 😊

Yes inner peace and joy is what we should aim for at this point in time. Success esp work-related is important but of course comes with its own level of stress and can bring temporary happiness only.

OMG my values are just like u and recently I started working as an online tutor which I LOVE and I feel free and happy~ hope everyone can find their own best career n enjoy living. BUT STILL I have something in mind to do which is becoming a KZbinr. Cause i also love tp help ppl and have some more good effects on world, I hope I'll have the courage to do so. I also wanna become a writer as well. That would also align my desire to help the world and radiating good vibes✨️

When I first graduated from high school I didn't have a plan, let alone a purpose even though I already thought what it is. Bit I have never actually thought about how or why I wanted to achieve this goal. You see, my goal was to be an artist but I didn't think I er what kind of artist I want to be or why, I just assume that it would be the right path just like I assumed that being an actress was the right path but it wasn't. But when I first read your articles and did that Life Path worksheet last week, it helped me figure out what I wanted to do with my life and how and so did that Dream Life course, and when I saw that other video on how to be the person I want through scripting and the future boards, it gave some to reflect on the things and I wanted to do. I just wish I was able to believe that whatever I am or what is I wanted to do, I hope I could find out why but when I saw your video today is gave me hope. Like, not gonna lie, this video has inspired me to find out what kind of artist I wanted to be and why. So thank you for posting this video, like it helped me out a lot.

I am excited. I filled out the artist of life 2022...some things were wild card ideas that came through. Some I will try to do this year. I ended up ordering also the daily planner....card deck...planning pads and 5 min journal and I'm using it all for my wedding vow renewal planning. Looking forward to planning

Thankyou for this, I have been on a journey over past two years and I've found that my why is because I love my savior Jesús Christ. Because I love him it has led me to love all and to want to serve others so my current path is the path of service.

what i see is that you are very authentic and honest and may be sovereign abut your what. that takes a lot of knowing yurself and also honoring your desires as seperate and your own outside of what soceity's influences or what soceity wants you to be doing. i am sure that - sovereignity in what you want or desire came a a jounrey and a process, as you been in youtube for a while, and also being accepting that in front of lot of people, which helps may be re confirm identity. I would love for you to share were you always soveriegn or say like not being effected by what soceity's wants you to do, and have this like this is what i want or was it like a process and muscle building. please share that, if you may. :)

This video is super necessary for the phase I’m currently in in my life. I’m a university student and I love what I’m studying but I fear that I’m studying just to do study. But I love to do what I’m doing right now, so these practices really help me build my path to a clear present and a bright future 😊
