How to Finish A Speaker with Vinyl Wrap & Exohyde

It's not recommended to wrap or veneer over lacquer. If the lacquer starts to peel or crack you will lose the new finish in the process. I would recommend a good sanding to remove most of the current finish before applying any type of wrap over it.

The big downside is that the edges are going to peel off after some time because they are not water/moisture sealed. It looks good now, but it will not last. It would have been better if you wrapped it all around and finished somewhere on the bottom, where it is not visible

exohyde never covers in 1 coat. you'll see through it after it dries down.

Exohyde is a TERRIBLE PRODUCT. Their "Roller" doesn't hold up and the finished product is rated a 6 out of 10.

@@shanec8224 It may look nice on Camera, but it DOES NOT stand up to the ruggedness of taking your speakers on tour. I wish I could upload a video demonstrating how fragile Exo-Hyde is. I can make scratch marks on it using my FINGER NAIL!!!
