Im 19 yrs young and I wish i could work along side a passionate professional like you man. The jokers i work with are supposedly supposed to teach me how its done PROPERLY but all they do is teach me how to cut corners and that’s just not me. Leo you Remind me of my Irish boss Jerry from New York taught me to hand tape 20 yrs ago very meticulous guy worked very clean also.Up and close with the bazooka is the way to go. Nice work.

It is but it’s just an extra step I do because I can’t stand that grove in the middle of my tape. I love fibafuse on my flats but when i used it I still ran paper on my butts. The fibafuse would tear some if I used in the butts when I busted them out with the box. It’s just got so expensive I’ve went back to paper everywhere

I could totally see it tearing on butt joints. I always prefill butts. A lot of times if hangers are clean the make the so tight mud can’t get through them and only bonds to paper. I put a little v in them when prepping the house. It does help lay tape or fibafuse flatter.

I ran an entire house with fiba fuse. All flats and butts, have to run paper on angles. Advantage to fiba is it does not pull at all when your taping and no stretch like tape. Disadvantage is that you have to be in long sleeves and need gloves because the fibers get into your skin and you itch all day. It does run smoother through a tube.

One thing to be careful about is tearing it with your knife, if you wipe to hard.

Was going to ask this myself thanks guys. Why do you choose to run paper over FIBA mate , just keeping costs down or any other reasons ? Used steel angles since day one on internals but all you guys really making me want to go to paper 😬

So believe it or not. The house is prefilled. But I don’t prefill where the flats are tight together, only broken board and gaps. The line in the tape has been happening only recently over last 4 months. I was using USG tape on this one which seems to have gotten thinner. It stretched a lot wiping it down on that house. I would run some long flats and it would stretch almost an inch by the time I was done wiping it down. I am going to try ProForm tape on next one I tape with a tube. It has a thicker profile.

I do all prefill to butt joints and corner gaps along with damaged board with sheetrock prior to taping as it is required to get a high quality finish and 2 other things you failed to mention 1 being that where you end at adjacent wall/ cieling flats if you touch filler valve to drywall and do cut length is perfect every time no quess work involved and 2 being that the screen on bottom of pump can get plugged by chunks of debris either dry mud or semi dry mud and restrict mud when pumped into bazoka and cause air bubbles , all butts that are not prefilled will show a line in the long run btw , my 41 yrs exp knows these facts to be true

I can totally see how that would work, but that’s like taping the whole house twice almost on the flats and butts. I did tape one house one time with fiba fuse on all flats and butts. I didn’t have this issue at all.

You're pulling way too hard on that knife you pulling back out all the compound mud from under the tape that suppose to help hold the drywall joints together

This one is 6k sq ft. Has a bit over 21k ft of drywall.

150 no coat, 50+ sticks of beads. Rooms, 11’ tall, 11’6”, 9ft, 10ft, 3 barn ceilings, 19 ft high room, 11 ft garage. All sorts of different heights.
