How to finish drywall! Final coat angles like a professional!

@@manwithapan I've only been doing drywall for a year at a hotel. We don't have those expensive machine and wide skimmer blades we do everything by hand. I'm getting it slowly but I feel I don't get to do it as much as I want to. It definitely shows you've been doing it for a long time you do excellent work.

What causes a little gutter to sometimes form in the corner. It seems as if there's a booger on the edge of the blade digging mud from the inside of the angle but that's not the case.

Are you referring to where all the corners come together or when you are running down an angle?

@@manwithapan When running down or across an angle. I done a fair amount of drywall but this has always been a nuisance for me. I'm using fairly thin plus 3 but it happens with other mud too. Do you think I could be picking up dried compound from the opposite corner and pulling it into the wet mud?

@@jerseyjim9092 so try to lighten up on the pressure a bit and changing angle of your knife, ultimately you are trying to stay exactly 90 degrees to opposite side. The side of your blade will clean the other side instead of cutting in. Also take note to how long it takes to run the angle. The longer you leave the mud on while wiping, the more likely it is to soften mud on other side. This will cause you to dig out that angle, especially with light weight muds. Hope you understand that. I will do a more detailed video and explanation for you on my next hand finished job.

@@manwithapan thanks so much for taking the time to answer. Ive watched many videos but the 2 you have on corners and flats have been the best. You make it look so easy. I think you may be right about the mud on the opposite corner getting soft and getting pulled out with the knife edge. I'll see if I can confirm it. Thanks again.
