40 pound braid to 20 pound fluoro is the go to! When you said 50 pound braid to a fluoro leader I was like, "yup!" Your Senko videos had me reevaluate braid and I'll never go back to any other line. The go to 3 setups are a green pumpkin Senko, a jig, and a bladed jig. The skipping ability of these 3 lure choices on casting gear get the best bites. Appreciate your videos Roland!

I'm just getting back into freshwater fishing after taking a 20 or so year break and then doing saltwater for several years, and I really wanted to learn these chatterbaits so this is perfect timing

I learned about them while picking out a backlash. Jerked the rod tip up and had a 3½lb smallmouth instantly. Been doing it ever since.

I absolutely LOVE the Jackhammer! It’s been a game changer for me and it won me 2 club tournaments this year. That bite when they hit it is like a drug😅

I really want to see you get into some big tournament in the near future and just give everyone a thrill of a lifetime to see and be with you out on the water competing. No expectations. But I’m sure you would give them a hella of a run for their money! No doubt!😎👍🏻👍🏻

I have never fished a chattebrait but bought a jack hammer and a smaller z man chatterbait. I will give it a try this end of summer/ fall. Crank baits are my favorite lures to fish though and the senko usually produces when the fishing is tough but not my favourite way of fishing.

Roland ... love your content brother ... can you do a segment on the rattle trap and give some tips on the greatest lure ever made for bass fishing .... up here in the north , it out produces chatterbaits , senkos , flukes , spinnerbaits by a wide margin and is so easy to fish , depth control is amazing , shallow or deep , the lipless crankbait gets the big ones , not to mention it works in all the seasons ... let us know what you think roland ... tight lines my fishin brother

A tip that works great for me is to let the chatterbait reach the depth, after the cast, and give the rod a couple of quick rod pumps. The fish is often watching the bait fall, and those quick pumps make the fish think the wounded fish is getting away. I'm a Lake Erie guy so I also love braid to a flouro leader. Thanks, Roland!

I never had a bite on one until I started using them on the grass beds with 25 lb braid and a fluke trailer. I've caught more bigger smallmouth this year in 1 week than in my 20plus year fishing.

I use a medium heavy rod 6.3:1 re with 20lb straight flouro for thicker grass I use 12 to 15lb straight flouro on a medium rod same reel for less thick grass (Up in northern Illinois) Prefer 1/2oz just because it's easier to get down in the grass but 3/8th works as well. I use the Zako, zman goat, and sideways dbombs as a trailer (trimmed).

And I also keep the rod down as much as possible because the chatterbait in my opinion is pretty prone to getting thrown if they jump. (Especially with the 1/2oz)

How many rocks did you put in that reel? Sounds like a real grinder. haha
