Hi there - I found your video last winter bc I wanted to try jerk bait fishing over the winter since I am in the midwest, but your tip about utilizing the vibration of the rod to understand that you are doing it right was critical to my learning experience, TY! Caught my PB walleye and carp just by practicing your tips in Mar in 30-deg weather. AND... I use spinning tackle and it all still applied!

@@FullTimeFishing excited to try them. So few vids have glove reviews that are actually using baitcasters. Most show people using spinning gear so it’s not applicable. Haven’t caught a jerkbait fish yet, since I almost never throw it. But I like the bigger hook advice or adding weight. Slow sink makes more sense to me 👍

The pond I fish the most tends to have a lot of green slimy moss in it. That’s one thing holding me back from putting more time into a jerkbait. I need to figure them out though.

@@FishermanFred2023 is the moss on top or bottom in the winter? This pond is terrible for moss but with a jerkbait you always keep the bait above the fish so it’s no problem.

Excellent tips and great video! I’ve had the most success on a fast presentation followed by a long pause and then several soft pulls with quicker pauses. I agree with you that the aggressive movements get their interest and then the slowdown brings them in for the bite since they have confidence that they won’t have to chase it much and it’ll be an easy meal. I’ll also change up the cadence with more pops and longer pauses, which seems to have a similar effect. Great job out there and enjoyed seeing you get on them in real time during the tutorial.👊💥🎣

Some good tips on this video Buddy. The one thing i disagree with is the megabass hooks are cheap, they are made that way so the bait does what it was designed to do. If you change the hooks out to heavier hooks, then you will change the performance of the bait. I wouldn't recommend changing out a $25 dollar baits hooks and missing with its performance, because you paid that price because of that performance. They're not made for boat flipping heavy fishing thats for sure lol. But a good video man except for that one thing IMO. 🤝🏼 Until the next one ✌🏼 buddy.

I think the newer ones have round bend but with the vision 110 it comes with EWG hooks which are not optimal for a jerk bait. The sink rate of a jerk bait depends on the water temp not the hooks necessarily so yes the stock hooks are made for the bait but that’s only in a certain water temperature. That’s why I use the wire to be able to get the rate of sink I want. Thank you for the input!

Also your hand position w a spinning rod is in better position for the sudden movements you need to be efficient. Also not effected by wind/ you cant use small line on casting for JB / did you know the Vision 110 was designed for spinning rod? Just wanted to share a lil more advantages of using spinning over casting. Again thanks for your awesome videos. They are much appreciated. Tight lines✌🏻😎

Disagree, I use casting reels for any application. Especially since getting into bfs. To each their own.
