Mr Martin, I'm 54 years old and a military retiree, and grew up learning about different techniques about bass fishing from your father and others on tv. I want to thank you for taking the time to use the different media platforms available today to pass on your knowledge about the sport of bass fishing. When I was growing up we had just the 30 minutes of what we saw on TV and if we missed something we didn't have to opportunity to go back and start over from the beginning. As a professional in the sport of bass fishing we know you have many responsibilities to fulfill for your sponsors and to your family, but you still take the time to put together these video's to teach us some of the things you've learned along the way during your career and for that I just wanted to say Thank You.

I thought I has subscribed to your channel a while back. Turns out I hadn't so I rectified that today. Love the great tips on spinnerbaits! They have been my go to fish finding baits for years. It was my first ever confidence bait. It's amazing as I watched your video how much my dad had taught me about spinnerbait fishing back in the mid to late 70's. We used to kill em in Ohio farm ponds and gravel pits in early spring fishing a single Colorado blade with the rod tip up and just reeling enough to feel that blade thump the end of the rod. So much fun!!! Thanks for the great video. (I enjoyed the willow leaf video also.)

This is all such good info; pleased to know I'm doing some stuff right. Love my Okuma steelhead rod, Mini Kings with trailers and a lead shot squashed on for sinkage, or Booyahs with the painted blade swapped for a shiny one. Easy to fish, easy to experiment with, not snaggy. We even catch trout this way, and once hooked a musky.

Hey, Scott! What's with the orange painted Indiana or Colorado blades. Is it a trend or does it really help? Also found some old spinner baits of my Dad's with dimpled Colorado blades. Changed the skirts to red and black. The bass just love them! I usually have Chartreuse and White skirts. That work well. Has the spinner bait been replaced by the Chatterbait? Thanks, For your Pro opinon. Shawn.

What is your advice for how tight/loose the drag should be set when fishing a spinnerbait? I lost 2 giant smallmouth on Saturday in a tournament, and I am not sure if my drag setting was the issue.
@Eyesofthasouth5 жыл бұрын
Nice tips! Really like the rod positioning one that helps remind me to keep the lure closer to cover. Question-What size spinnerbait is that? Reason asking is I like throwing 1/4 to 3/8 a lot and trying to find that perfect rod. Been eyeballing the tcs series. Another problem I come across with this, is that most rods are to fast and when the bass hammers it they feel the resistance before I’m able to get a good hookset and they spit it. A good recommendation on a rod for what I’m looking for would be great! Thanks, Blaine
