Cool deal Rod. Carp are underrated, very challenging for the average angler. Their mouths are so sensitive they can feel the hook and often spit it before you can set. See some of my carp vids sometime Rod I'd be honored.

Awesome video rod. You should head to Okanagan one summer when i visit! i sight fish the carp along the shoreline on the fly, it's a huge adrenaline rush especially when you watch them eat.

nice video Rod! re: your comments about not moving live carp to other water bodies; you should note it is illegal to move any live fish in BC!

Any sloughs in ladner will work. Put some corn out, and have a size 6 hook with a pice of corn and half of a worm.
@ssyparkk7 жыл бұрын
isn't chumming the water considered illegal?
@IXLGAMES7 жыл бұрын
If you use a method lead, then technically it is not. As it is attached to the hook when you cast it out. But, I do belive that blindly throwing out corn is illegal.

We caught a carp in one lake in California and yes, it is an invasive species but we didn't know it at the time. The owner of the launch ramp said to just throw it into the woods so the animals would eat it. We've been fishing that lake for a lot of years and have never caught a carp there. You sort of wonder how it got there in the first place.
@TheDaveplosivo3 жыл бұрын
I know you said California, but I just wanted to clarify that it's illegal to waste any fish you catch in British Columbia (where this video is shot). I've heard lots of crazy misinterpretations of the regulations from British Columbians. Keep it and eat it or release it.
@Ihtiandr13 Жыл бұрын
@@TheDaveplosivo i heard in some bc lake you are not allowed to release bass, back into the lake, because its invasive. Somewhere in Kooteneys.

Was at the Pitt river by one of its side sloughs where they meet around sunset yesterday and decent size fish were jumping all over do you think these are carp And can I use this rig with worms for carp...if there surfacing will they still bite a Carolina rig
@FishingwithRod2 жыл бұрын
Hard to tell just by that description. Yep you can catch carp on worms too.

@@FishingwithRod checked it out yesterday only catching pike minow there maybe there doing all the splashing seemed like big splashes iunno could still be carp but all that was biting were the pike minow
@FishingwithRod2 жыл бұрын
They’re not easy to catch that’s for sure. This time of the year they are also getting ready to spawn, that’s why you’re seeing them splashing.
@Walker82kg2 жыл бұрын
@@FishingwithRod so checked out my pictures I think there actually pea mouth chubs look like pike minow noticed pike minow were more shinny these fish were duller and had red under there backbelly

I am pretty sure it's carp. Its all over those Addington marshlands. You can see them munching on weeds near surface or shore.

Can these guys be cough on 10lbds braid or 10lbs mono or are they too big
@FishingwithRod6 жыл бұрын
10lb test should be able to handle most of the carp found in Deer Lake, but it'd depend on which part of the lake you're fishing in. If there are lots of underwater structures where fish can run into, then you may want to use heavier line.

A local carp fishing video without a shout out to First Light Tackle in Burnaby? C'mon dude they are the carp experts and I'm sure they'd love the publicity! You should contact them about maybe taking them out and making a proper carp fishing video on Burnaby lake, there's a sponsored video I'd like to see! I've seen some serious canal whales in there and in Still creek.
