Good stuff, I have a couple cope ones to do here. Looks like you unfolded the lip to remove the skin, I know in the past you have ground the lip off then welded on a new one. Would love to see a vid of each of those methods. Cheers Hodgey

Great video, I used to have trouble with the linisher change in the belt as well, what I do now is grab the belt on the top and pull it straight up and it pulls the spring in really easy, thanks for sharing learnt a lot

Other than the epoxy primer do you do anything to coat inside the doors or is epoxy primer sufficient?

They need to be sealed with either 2K or something like POR 15 chassis paint

Interesting never seen anyone use that sorta hammer doing door skins I’ve done 100s of skins over the years I found using a round faced curved cross pain hammer with dads medium toe dolly on its side or edge and or on it’s round side curve vintage plumb dolly I’ve never had to use filler on the edges of any skins I’ve done I learned on new cars as per quote Insurance companies back in the day before panel shops started putting whole doors on or using second hand doors was fun doing a newer car for hail damage I’d race my old boss I’d have four doors done to his one file Finnished and he would use body filler on his id say you ruined the door not a new skin anymore the painters love me boss would say I’ve never seen anyone use a dolly like that.. 😅😅😅 door skins was my favourite thing to do in a panel shop

@@AstillDesign yeah I done six years with Carl mills he’s one of the best panel beater spray painters I’ve ever spent time with in a smash shop he now has his own business in resto and repair of stainless steel and body moulding on older cars and muscle cars I think 🤔 he’s done the grille in your boss xc falcon he’s a great man to know and one of my best mates and like step father figure to me in the trade you may of heard of my family Burglar Byrnes was my grandfather I half grew up in his vintage wrecking Yard at Bentley near Lismore New South Wales my uncle is Terry prodger who was owner of prodgers Panel works in Goonellabah and my cousin Dean Prodger who specialises in HK Monaro’s and my other uncle was Chester Byrnes and father was Jeffery Byrnes you could say I have cars in my blood anyway love your work and how you do it proper
