How to fit A push fit strap-on boss [32 or 40mm]

Tidy job but 2 things: Leave the solvent welded boss plenty of time to set firm. It has to last years and fitting the adapter and pipes straight off, could weaken the seal. An outside wall stack is of less consequence but if that join was inside a property, it would be more problematic (smell/leaks) How long you wait is up to you but I just find something else to get on with for half an hour. Secondly, just use a bit of Fairy liquid on the insert and for the pipe. Less stress on the boss and rubber fits more easily.

Why is the soil pipe spaced off the wall that far?

That's what I thought but as the tutorial goes on you realise It's been done to make a nice little shelf to put the little bottle of solvent on. 😂
