Thanks for sharing that video, really good to see these types of videos. Would KTM normally make a charge to activate the heated grips. it seems a bit mad to have to go to them to get them activated but I guess they're hoping to get the business.

I installed them on 2022 SAS and all I had to do was to go into the menu. Now trying to do the same on my 2020 SDR and I see I will have to take the bike to the dealer for activation. Lame AF, but luckily I am not so far from the dealer..

That’s where KTM let there self’s down. You shouldn’t have to take it to a dealer and pay just to have it turned on.

Thank you for uploading! I bought a 2022 KTM 1290 SDR two weeks ago here in SW France. I rode 15 klm down the road and the SERVICE warning message appeared with the yellow triangle and exclamation mark. Have you experienced the same problem? Otherwise at the moment a fantastic bike.

Hello. No not had any problems yet. I know some people have had problems with the adjustment of the exhaust valve cables. That can bring a warning on. It’s probably something simple like that 👍

I went to the dealer to have my heated grips activated before I installed them and the dealer tried but couldn't see heated grips as an option on my 2020 SDR, they said I might have to install them first before they can see them as an option. I now have them installed and need to go back to the dealer and hope they can now activate them. Did you have yours activated before or after you installed them? Thanks

i installed my heated grips today to my bike and before I had the heat grips in my menu - now I dont see them anywhere and I can't activate them. that is totally bs, I installed them myself since I dont have time in the near future to go to a KTM shop (I live in middle of nowhere) and now it still has to be activated by KTM? Wtf?

@@itchingtoride yeah, for sure. i had a 2016 model before, I never had any issues with it, no yearly inspections, did my own oil change. Now I have 2019 and everything has changed 😂👍

These won't fit a 2023 R, but will fit the 2023 RR and Evo..... Bizarre!

that does not fit the 2023 evo, you have to switch the throttle twist grip from 2022 and it will fit
