Richard, I love your videos mate. I especially like how you spend time explaining how to get past inconsistencies. You are right mate, we are all human so wafer thin gaps in the base rail can be sorted. Keep them coming bud👍🏻👍🏻

Not sure what comments you were getting when this video was made, but having watched a lot of your videos, seeing the real work you all do (even when it occasionally doesn't go as planned) makes me think you guys have to be some of the best, most careful and neat builders ever! You all take so much care to make sure everything is safe, built to last and finished to a very very high quality, I'll be very happy if my builder has a similar attention to detail. Keep up the great work and the very interesting videos 😃

When doing this type of work Rich what is your glue of choice?
@Mr_A_Builders2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t got one in particular but I do like D4 because of its bonding strength but a good quality (named brand) PVA adhesive is still good.

Hi Rich, I fit handrails exactly the same way as you do and never had a problem. Like you I don't do them everyday but even so I must of done 100's without any trouble. PS a 23g pin nailer is next on shopping list....just which one to get 👍
@Mr_A_Builders2 жыл бұрын
Hi ya mate glad to hear it and yes the method has never failed for me either. What I can say about the 23g Pinner is Mick from our channel has the Makita which is what made me buy mine and that is quality as well as the Hikoki. I’ve just used mine for two weeks solid fitting oak trims 15mm thick into oak faced plywood and it hasn’t failed to sink the 25mm nail once. 👍🏻
@jrsuk11702 жыл бұрын
@@Mr_A_Builders How does Mick find his makita 23gauge and is it 18v or 40v? I'm leaning towards makita because I've already got 18v and 40v batteries. 👍
@Mr_A_Builders2 жыл бұрын
@@jrsuk1170 hello buddy, my 23g is 18v it’s very smooth. However, there is an issue…. It’s ok if it’s kept on it’s own but it doesn’t play nice with the other power tools…. I keep all my tools in easy to carry makita bags and the loading slider on the 23g is a bit flimsy and easily disassembles itself if bumped around with other more robust tools and it’s a pain to put back together but can’t fault performance
@jrsuk11702 жыл бұрын
@@Mr_A_Builders Cheers pal. Thinking about it I think the 23g is only in 18v. I'm probably going to to get that one 👍

Hi Marlow. Yes mate it’s one of the first things we do when we start a new job but we are very careful when filming not to get them in any footage if possible and if we do we ask them if it’s ok to keep them in it. The customers enjoy the fact that they can see exactly what’s happening on a day to day basis when they aren’t there. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

Length between newel post is 1906 ÷ 100 (max gap) + 41 (spindle size). 1906 ÷ 141 = 13.5177, Round down to 13 spindles. 13 x 41 = 533. 1906 - 533 = 1373 (remaining gap to be filled with spacers). 13 spindles + 1 = 14 divided into 1373 = 98.07 (spacer size).
@Mr_A_Builders Жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for commenting on our channel. The workings out comes back to the same calculations either way you do it doesn’t it. 👍🏻
@christiangrundy7045 Жыл бұрын
Would the spindle size not be bigger once cut on an angle?
@Mr_A_Builders Жыл бұрын
Yea. I measure the length on the base rail top to bottom and cut a spindle to the angle required you can then measure this cut to do your working out dividing the cut spindle into your overall length. You do have to check it a couple of times though to make sure you are maintaining your max 100mm gap between spindles. 👍🏻

I’ve purchased three of them now under the Waitley brand from Amazon and they have been good. The 9ah one is ok as long as it’s not in a large power pulling tool so drill or 190mm saw is fine but the other two I have are 6ah 12v for my site light and radio and one has just run my radio for two days 👍🏻

I don’t care how good anyone is at math but they don’t beat a computer, these days google is your friend 😂 spindel calculator and all you do is put in the length between the newal posts and the thickness of the spindel and as quick as you can scratch your ass it tells you how many spindals you need and the spacing Saved my brain from working this morning while doing the complicated work without being a math goon
