My hairdresser is great! He knows that I'm taking care of my disabled husband so he cuts my hair so that when it's growing out it has good shape. I don't fix my hair because I just don't have the time anymore. I haven't seen Jimmy, my hairdresser, since January and I've been watching your videos for 70+ year old overweight women with thin, gray hair. I have a round face, my hair is straight and I'm still undecided what to do. I've just heard about low lights {?} and since I want to keep my gray hair but add some color or brightness to it I'm considering low lights. Anyway, thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us. It's a tremendous help.

I get tired of trying to get a good haircut and yeah nobody listens, I always end up with something strange, nobody knows how to style my curly hair, I pretty much feel like I have to leave the salon with a sack over my head until I get home, it’s just ridiculous. I had a bob haircut once (didn’t ask for it) and I looked like the Campbell soup girl, 😒 unbelievable

My stylist gets annoyed when I ask for something without layers. I have wavy hair that is straight on top and curly underneath layers always look like a mullet and I hate it. When someone has been cutting hair for 20 plus years you'd think they know how to work with different hair textures but I could be wrong. 🤦

Great video! My layered bob has been growing out and now I kow why I did t like it- it was over layered for my fine hair. I just combed it out, pulled half of my hair forward over my shoulder, found the angle downwards in the second to last layer… and chopped off three inches! I love it! It looks and feels so much fuller. And because I over directed it forward the back is still long enough for a pony tail or a messy bun. Then I cleaned up your face layers. Thanks for the information and for giving me the courage to fix my hair myself! ❤

After dislocating and fracturing my ankle on August 6, I spent 10 days in the hospital and I am still in rehabilitation center and probably for at least the next week. Last Wednesday I had my first shampoo since probably August 5. The poor lady asked me if I had cirrhosis, no just hair that hadn’t been washed! A friend brought me a scrunchie on the first day and that was my friend for nearly a month! Next Wednesday I’m scheduled to get a shampoo and I 0:06 think I’m gonna get a cut, which is kind scary and exciting. I’ve been enjoying a Bob the past couple of years and I’m trying to decide which is gonna be easiest for me to maintain once I get home, or an old-fashioned shag. My left leg is still nonweightbearing so I’ll be more limited when I get home as to shampoos and such. Decisions!!! I need to go back and watch that video, I think it was somebody named Julie who was gonna do six week hike or something like that down the length of California. Something easy is what I need! Grateful to have this library of videos to fall back on! Thanks!

I cared for my husband after a major motorcycle accident. When you come home and can get in the shower, you can truly clean yourself everywhere without weight bearing if you have a handheld shower nozzle. They're not expensive or hard for a loved one to install and they're nice to have after you recover. I wish you the very best!

I’ve been wearing a bob for a few months now and love it, but my hairstylist just doesn’t get it right. The first time I went back and she fixed it. This time it’s longer on one side, stacked in the back but the top layer hangs over the stack! Ugh! I’d love if you did a video showing exactly how to cut the perfect bob so I could have her watch it. 😊

Thank you Justin! When you have super fine hair like I do the layer or not layer is important in styling my silver bob. My stylist usually gives me a straight blunt cut, but last time I let her do some shaping. It turned out a little over layered on my back eft side but the right has the beveled look you described. Like most people my hair texture and thickness is different at the base of my neck so beveling the back should work. Thanks again! Great video…🤗👏👏👏

Love the videos and explanations! The bob is my favorite style but maybe I need to accept the fact that it's just not right for my hair type. Most of your videos talk about thin hair; however, my hair is very thick, coarse, wavy (and fluffy which is likely user error! 😕) and takes forever to dry. It hasn't been cut or colored in nine months and has grown to halfway down my back. Any suggestions on how I might find a knowledgeable stylist who understands how to work with thick hair?

Great question, It depends on how thin it is. Kind of like bangs that would have some layers that connect them into the length. So not straight across bangs. Bangs that would be meant to wear backoff the face, instead of into it.

Any suggestions for my issue: I recently lost 150+ lbs, hit menopause, had 2 surgeries with anesthesia… which all have effected my hair. It’s thinned, changed texture, etc. My stylist told me to stop the layers and did a bob and cut of several inches. It still hasn’t helped. It has little movement and just looks bad. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I could be a good video hair fix if your brave enough.😊 Thanks for any helpful advice you can give me.

@@jmk1962I think she meant NATURALLY curly or wavy hair... Not many hairdressers know how to handle curly hair and they are fixated on straight hair. It shows with the way he and all the rest make "waves" in straight hair. Their waves are nothing like real waves. If they liked curly/wavy hair, they would make those waves look natural, not like you fell asleep with wet hair and woke up in the morning with wonky hair and bits sticking our everywhere... smh. Us curly ones are better to cut our own hair. I've been doing that for 25 years now, never going back...

I have a weird question. What do you think about straightening treatments. There’s the Brazilian straightening treatment and there is the Japanese straightening system. I was honestly thinking about getting the Japanese one so my hair could be completely straight. I don’t have curly or wavy hair. It’s more speed bumps right in the middle. And I know grow out is annoying because then you’ll have to smooth the grow out to match the rest of the hair butmy hair is just so stupid fluffy. I’m wondering if I should get one of those treatments. I know the Japanese one is permanent whereas the Brazilian washes out eventually but I’ve read if you keep getting Brazilian keratin treatments you’ll damage your hair or eyes with the Japanese one you just do it once. I would love some guidance on that.
