In this video, in this video I show you how to resolve a blank screen following a navigation software update. In this example, in a 2020 Hyundai Ioniq 38kWh, but the same is for many other Hyundai models.

Just did an update on my NX4, after it was done I pressed the button to see details about the update. Then a bunch of functions stopped working like the setup screen, main screen… weirdly the map, nav and radio didn’t have any issues. Anyway, reset button sorted me out. Thank you!

Yeah, it's all too scary for me this tech lark, think I'll leave well alone until my wife gets it into her head to play with it! Joking aside I'm very grateful for these Ioniq videos Matt, we're still enjoying ours. Tell you what, it feels so much better in the icey conditions, even with full regen on, it really sticks to the road. Great vehicle all round. 👍

Yes EVs perform much better in slippery conditions as the traction control can be controlled so much quicker with an electric motor than it can with a combustion engine and gearbox. Plus the motor braking (i.e. regen) is safer than using the brakes in the ice.

What is the screen called on the fuse panel? Is it labeled “audio” or “multi media”!?

Just upgraded mine. Thanks for the info. Just one question, do you know how to have the radio on at the same time as Android Auto? From what I can see, it's not possible!!

Yes it is. If you have the radio playing first before you connect your phone, the radio continues to play while Android Auto loads and runs. But you have no radio controls in AutoAuto, so have to flick back to the radio if you need to change anything.

@@GoGreenAutos I managed to figure it out, essentially you need to have the "star" button mapped to go to phone projection, so you load android auto by pressing the media button, at which point the radio cuts out, then you press the radio button to get the radio going again and then press the "star" button to load android auto.

@@mrmuds8624 Glad you sorted it, but it wasn't that complicated in ours. I tested it today before replying. I had the radio on, then plugged in my phone, then selected AA and the radio still continued to play while AA was running. However, it doesn't with my partners phone. When she plugs her phone in, the AA media player starts playing automatically, but I assume there's a setting for that or maybe it just defaults to how it was last used.

@@GoGreenAutos one thing I noticed was from your other video where you show full screen Android Auto, you have the AA icon on the home screen icons when you swipe to the left. However, the version I have on mine (which I'm assuming is later version as I only did it last week) is missing that icon so the only way you can get AA going is by selecting the Media button on the front of the unit.

@@mrmuds8624 I think that might be the issue then. Possibly selecting media is forcing the AA media player, so will cancel the radio. This is what my partner does and she experiences the same. On the screen is a "phone projection" icon. When you plug in your Android phone, this changes to an AA icon, if you wait.
