I'm going to walk into nail salons like "do you use forms?" How's your cracked acrylic technique? Suzie said a good nail technician does it like this? She got my back. How bout you? 😂 Lol! Jk! But I know the correct questions to ask going forward! Love ya S! 💜

Once I asked for a form instead of a tip I realized I'd never go back to tips. It just sits so nicely, looks SO natural, and doesn't lift. Though the technician looked at me like I was crazy.

Tips can be just as good as forms, if not better. It just depends on how good the nail technician/manicurist really is.

CP20001000 Me too and now I’m obsessed with products lol. Looking back now, I think about all the times the technician took the tip off of my finger with another tip or did a really mediocre job and because I was never fussy they got away with it. I’m going to start trying to do forms and practice it on my fake fingers.

I have just gotten my own acrylic nail set and I'm so exicted to test different looks and techniques that you have taught me through the internet. I'm inspiring to be a nail tech myself and I thought this would be a good way to practice. I thought it would be good on a fake hand or nail but then I relized that I could test it on myself and see what would work. I'm still in school so I could see what would be the most reliable and comfortable for writing and typing. So all I want to say is thank you so much, I appreciate you taking the time to teach us and show us your techniques in the nail department. 💕💕💕

These videos have been the sole source of my nail education and search for more favorable options for doing my nails done. I started learning because I got tired of being overcharged for acrylics under the guise of "solar", it's the same product but falsely claims to be different and therefore more expensive, and the work was always purposefully subpar so I would have to come in more frequently for fills and fixes. I also noticed the lack of sanitation of utensils between customers and my fingers are so small and slender that I was getting infections from all the cuts and scrapes I was getting because their focus was to pump out ad many customers as possible with no real regard for the customer. There wasn't a single visit where I didn't leave without bleeding fingers. Also having 3 kids, two toddlers and homeschooling the eldest, I not only couldn't find the time get into a salon and even more importantly I just couldn't justify such an ongoing habit with such high cost factors. So I decided to learn for myself and I could do MONTHS of nail designs and styles all for the cost of one set. So Suzie, I couldn't thank you enough for giving me the knowledge I needed to do for myself but also the encouragement I needed to not give up and practice, practice, practice!

i have a question Suzie, what's the difference between purple and clear coloured monomer? i got my nails done 2 months ago at a new salon (to me) and he used clear monomer. it kinda freaked me out and confused me because all the other salons i've been to used purple. is there a difference between them or no?
@TallulahFoxxx
@TallulahFoxxx 2 жыл бұрын
Very old question, but in case you still need an answer: purple monomers have UV inhibitors in them. Sunlight/tanning beds cause plastic to yellow, and that’s essentially what nail enhancements are: plastic nails. If you have a light or clear nail enhancement, they can turn yellowish if they are exposed to too much UV light. Just like purple shampoo for blondes, purple cancels out yellow! Nail companies add purple uv inhibitors (sort of like a sunscreen) to the monomer to neutralise any yellow tones that may occur if you live in a sunny place or use tanning beds 🤓🥰 If your tech was using a clear monomer, it may have different types of inhibitors that aren’t purple (especially if he was using a darker coloured acrylic and it didn’t need the inhibitors). Or it may just be a monomer without any inhibitors at all ☺️ if your nails are still colour correct, great! If not, and they yellow, it’s always worth asking them the next time you’re in if they have a monomer with UV inhibitors.

Suzie can you do a video or series, for gel for amateurs? For people who want to do gel at home, good brands that we can buy online without licenses and aren't too expensive? And showing more how to structure a nail!

You should try cheap Ebay 99 cent acrylics, like, from a professional standpoint!!

Thank you! This video will be so useful in the future. I had a split about a month ago, and before I could get to a salon or fix it myself, it started lifting and pulling my natural nail with it 😬 Ouch. It was a painful hour as I tried alternating between filing and soaking the whole nail in acetone. It wasn't a bloodbath, but there's no way I can apply a tip to the healing nail. So no acrylics until it's better! 😭

I know this question will not be answered. But what if the lift is so small, that the only way to see it is by putting pressure on the tip, therefore the edges barely lift, but lift is present? I have done constant "lift check" along with my amateur skill it may very well be the cause. I noticed you left some "nail" on but every time I remove the edge the new edge has the same barely there lift. At this point I'm forced to believe that the who nail is affected in this way and unless it all comes off the new nail will behave the same until its removed and bridged properly. Is this correct?

Suzie - I'm new to the longer and pointier shape (i.e. the shape of your nails in this video, which your videos inspired me to try😘). This seems like a silly question but can you please show how you file the length down while still keeping the shape?

Hi Suzie, can you pretty pretty PLEASE tell me what acrylic brush you are using in this video. I am pretty sure its the LIcorice but I want to be certain before I order. It looks perfect and the exact type of brush I love to use. If you could please let me know that would be wonderful. Also if its not too much to ask can you please tell me the length of the bristles. I am so fussy with brushes and don't like them too long. I really loved this video. This is something a lot of people struggle with and you explained it so well. Have a great day xXx

you saved my nails and pockets with the liquid to powder ratio , I use to dip my brush until it was super soaked to then get rid of it with the napkin and continue to waste liquid 😵😵 it's super important to watch those little things when dipping your brush . 😚😚😚😘😘
