I have tried all and was ready to change out my faucet. I have come across your video and the one thing I have yet to try was to backflow the water using a handheld pump. To my surprise, that did the trick! Thank you so much for saving me money on buying a new faucet!

I love the troubleshooting. It makes the whole process make more sense. Start with what you know, then test, and trace the problem. I'd love to watch more of these videos.

I'm about to dive into this. The main has been worked on upstream and I know there's debris somewhere. The screen at the nozzle had debris but just like yours that didn't fix it. So it's either in the valves, both of them, or it's the flex line. I'm going to see if I can't back pressure that line. This video has given me the confidence, thank you!

What did you use to flush the hose out? Can I use an air canister? I am having the same issue after installing a brand new faucet. No pressure in hot water. Had a ton of debris in pipe. Changed out angel stop already. Should I undo both the hot and cold water lines and place into bucket to flush out the main line?
@FixItDepot Жыл бұрын
It’s easy enough to try the air. If it doesn’t work and you can take the hose completely off then use a water hose. If not, I had a little pump up sprayer you can get at Home Depot garden section or online for less than 10 bucks. Might take a couple of times to get all of the trash out the line. At least you know the problem and can keep working on it until finished.

What is that pump up container called? to reverse water pressure through kitchen sink line? I searched home depot but couldn't find it. How do you make it fit on there once you get it? Thank you for the great video!
@FixItDepot Жыл бұрын
Look up “ HDX 56 oz Handheld Multi-purpose Pump Sprayer” at the Home Depot web site. Cost is $8.93. As far as fitting, just stick the nozzle in as best you can and seal it with your hand.

Our kitchen faucet goes from flowing great, and then suddenly it just goes to a trickle....and then I can't get it back to the original flow....what is causing that sudden drop in pressure? Is that the shut off valve malfunctioning? Or what?
@FixItDepotАй бұрын
I wonder if it is doing this with both the hot and cold or just one of them. If it is happening from just one side, you might have the type of supply lines that have an automatic shutoff if the flow gets too high. They are designed to protect from a line rupture. It could be malfunctioning. If this is not the case then I would suspect trash in the line and would check that out before doing anything else.

My house is new build so what you think what is the problem. Thanks
@FixItDepot9 ай бұрын
The piping in this house was copper. They used too much solder when sweating the fittings together and also didn’t flush out the lines. Probably it is something plugging the faucet or it’s supply lines. I saw a similar problem on a hot water line for the kitchen sink. It showed up about rwo weeks after the hot water heater was changed out. Was a piece of plastic from packaging that the fittings come in. Good luck with it.

@@FixItDepot thanks a lot, but my hot water and cold is the same problem. I did tried all the sample fix but still have water running slow. Any thing else you think problem. I’m appreciated for all you help
@FixItDepot9 ай бұрын
Then I would focus on the faucet itself. Close one line off at a time. Break it loose from the shutoff valve and back flow through it to see if you can flush out something that could be blocking the faucet. If that doesn’t work shutoff both lines and take the valve cartridge out and see if anything is in it. You mentioned this is a new house, if so then call the builder to handle it under warranty.

One more think I forgot is my pipe wasn’t copper but its pex pipe what is the main reason you think running slow water
@burtpanzer Жыл бұрын
You can use nylon tape but it is not needed on compression fittings. The threads only pull both sides into the compression ring but do nothing to hold back water. Also, an experienced plumber can use any tool they like, but most viewers should use the appropriate size wrench whenever possible.

I was helping with a crime documentary and we had scheduled a month out to film in the home where the victim was kidnapped (she was released unharmed). Anyway, the kitchen was filthy and dishes piled in the sink.It was amazing what the camera ‘didn’t’ pick up. Kitchen actually looked fine in the final production.

I had the same problem. have ready with replacement tap, just in case, lucky I can go back and get full refund if not used. The pipe is clean, but the water came from the hot water valve is just slow, thus this is the one thing I need to focus on.

HINT... Putting tape or pipe dope on the threads wont stop it from leaking, as COMPRESSION FITTINGS are being used and if they did leak with Tape or Dope on the threads, water will still come out of the nut around the Ferrule Fitting up along the pipe and out through the nut... otherwise an excellent video for me to share to a woman that plumbers havent been able to figure out her problem. I told her she was being taken advantage of due to her listening to too many on Farcebuuk on what to do and hiring those that claim they can fix the problem.
@FixItDepot8 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing. I have another faucet that plugged on the hot water side only. The problem started about a week after the plumber changed out the water heater. A piece of plastic from packaging of a fitting or part was in the line. Must have got in the piping during the changeout and flowed to the faucet. I have a video on that one too if interested. Good luck with it.

@FixItDepot I passed your video to an ex step relative. She had her waterline up graded from galvanized pipe to copper.. She has the same problem in the kitchen sink.. I tried to tell her what needs to be done, but your video shows it best.. I'm a pipefitter by trade..

@FixItDepot I would go over and fix it for her, but I'm gun shy.. Everything I help someone, it bites me in the ass.. Example, last time and several years ago. I did a complete brake job for a female, charge her in parts only. I even took her to the parts store explained the various qualities in brake parts and the price, what to expect for wear down the road and length of time they will last. She went with the cheap end. After the work was completed, 1 month later, thevtranny went out, and it was my fault, according to her, not the 237,000 miles on the car... I told her to sue me.. She did. She lost. That was the nail in my coffin..

I assume you are talking about cleaning the nozzle? Vinegar would help clean any calcium deposits. It would not have helped with the solder inside the lines.
