Some people think that owner op life is just climb in the truck and roll…. But it’s not! This is how you do it right here, fix it yourself and save yourself time and money! Keep on truckin Marv!

It did. And because of the echoing, it was hard to pinpoint where it was coming from.

Loving the videos Marv. Talking about how the sound travels, an old mechanic once told me to grab a 2x4 or a wood broom stick and stick your ear on one end and the other end on the part you want to hear. The sound will travel up the wood and give you a good hearing on the part to see if its making noise. Not sure if thats how you do it but it works for me. Keep up the good work brother 💪🏼💪🏼

That's a good trick. I normally use a hollow piece of metal to listen with. The problem is, I didn't know where the noise was coming from. It was driving me crazy. It's 110% fixed, though. I ran a load with it yesterday.

Great job finding the cause of the issue! And eliminate it by fixing it!! That’s so owner operator ^^ Keep us updated on these issues you’re facing and fixing. It’s interesting (at least for me ^^“) Stay safe out there!!

Keep an eye on it. They didn’t set the lash on it properly it will go back out again. That’s why our dealer doesn’t rebuild them anymore. We just sell the new one
@krisknight72586 күн бұрын
Also keep an eye on that coolant. It looks pretty black. The beginning signs of a bad head gasket on these units

Appreciate the insights. What's the price on a new idler pulley assembly? I couldn't find it online for the life of me. I'll take the part number if you have it also.
@krisknight72586 күн бұрын
@@presy_jaypart number is a 78-1013. Our dealer charges 1278.45 for the new one. Just need to swap pulleys and it’s good to go

when I work on my unit I stand on my catwalk
@presy_jay6 күн бұрын
That is only good if you're working on the bottom half of the unit. It is impossible to reach the top belts from the catwalk. I'm almost on the top of the ladder just to get even with the area I'm working on. Definitely wouldn't be high enough on the catwalk.
