Looks like you got a sweet deal with those lights!! just a word of warning, on some PCBs I've been working with and making if you over heat any of the long black chips then they will stop working so be careful not to solder the legs for too long! Great vid and i look forward to the next Gig log!

Nice diagnostic work Brandon -- u could also try the tilt sensor from the 100% light in the other one to further diagnose the problem in jumpy moving head btw-- u have a great wife all you light stuff spead over the kitchen area hehehehe Great Video !! DJ Beaker

Not very tech minded Could I ask why the Gobo Patterns end up not showing full pattern on a mini moving head light. It either does half or has half of one pattern and half of another pattern as if it isn't in alignment. Hope you understand what I mean. I do have a video of it. Thanks for any help / advice

What exactly did you do to fix the tilt sensor exactly. Mine is doing same thing locks up and sometimes moves

I don't know if you can help me but I have 6 Elation Designe Spot 250 and 2 of then are just no focus at the same place , they are suppose to focus at almost 128 ... but one of them is focusing a 180 and sometime it only get focus a 255 ...

Any idea what may cause an otherwise perfectly working light to suddenly be noisy? When I move it around when it's off its perfectly fine and quiet but when the power is on it makes sound now. It comes and goes. Wondeeinf what I should check or steps to take to resolve.

Hey man. nice vid. I have a question for ya. so I have an older chauvet q spot 150 and everything works fine except the tilt. when you try to make it tilt past 180 degrees it just stops and then it looses signal from the dmx controller. I checked everything from the sensors to the pcb and I can't figure out what the problem is. any help is appreciated. thanks

I spoke to a Light Tech and they advised what I was doing was fine just don't look directly into the bulb. I'm a black man that can not get any darker I guess this light is black man proof LOL

@lightman02 If I had designed something like that, I woud put at least a small cooler onto this board to minimize the effects of the excessive heating on the moving head's arm.

@stewardsproductions Not trying to bash your lights, sure can't beat the price you paid for them. I service all my own stuff if you ever have questions let me know. Also just an FYI, the sensors on the lights are usually only used for homing, after that the unit doesn't refer to them unless you re-home. It relies on motor steps for the rest of the operation.

Hey man nice video , It seem like to me you had a good vision for those lights that somebody else would have never took the chance to do. That the reason your set-up's are great. I watch alot of your video but never really coment. After watching this one , i think it's time for me to step my game up and get some light for my dj show. Thanks for your videos. I got some elation 575 movers from a store that closed down and they have been sitting in the building for a while and are covered in dust on the inside. Do you know of anything to use to clean everything off?

Shouldn't you turn off the bulb when the covers are off? I thought those bulbs give off an incredible amount of UV rays?

Good afternoon, I bought a new lamp for my moving head to think that it was from the lamp that did not light.With this lamp lights but the light that gives is weak. I measured the voltage between the ignitor wire N and the igniter L by disconnecting the wire from the ignitor to make the measurement and gave 230 volts or the ballast is good ? i already know heating up the solder didn't fix anything. it was not the solder that failed . the first mistake was buying lights from guitar center for the bowling ally your a DJ at.

This is why they will never be pro touring grade. No pro grade manufacture would put a motor driver PCB in the head of the light where all the main heat and movement is. It will cause the metals on the PCB to flex and driver chips to overheat and get damaged. If you notice the chips are in sockets, you can try pushing them down a little with your thumb to see if it just a loose driver in the socket, you never know. This is just crap design and use of cheap components leading to having failures.
