Im thinking if you remove the rocker arm and ground down the flat spot on the bolt a little where the rocker sets you might be able to make up 10 or 15 thousands that you need. heck grinders work wonders lol

The problem is I need more material, instead of grinding, I’d weld a bead to make up the space I need.

I have a question. I need some info on, please, Sir, I just replaced a solenoid on a kohler 21 hp that's on my Hustler lawnmower. The problem I'm having is now mower is not getting any power to the starter at all now . Is it possible that the solenoid is wired bacwards? Because of the mounting on the solenoid, there are two ways to mount it. Could Wiring it backward cause this. I have not given up trying to resolve it, I've recently had surgery on my back , so,, I have to take breaks for relief due to that, I thought it would be a simple placement of the way it was wired on the original one ,but it's not an oem part.

No you can’t mess it up, doesn’t matter. The two thick red wires go on the top big bolts and a yellow or white thin wire to tab, if it’s a 4 post solenoid, you’ll have another tab for the black thin wire. Put your welding skills to use! Weld a good bolt to the broken bolt and extract it 😁

Install at least two engine mounting bolts diagonally when testing engine. Exhaust valve is roughly 3 times too loose out of spec at .020". Those Kohler early generations are known problems.

Henry , if you slip with that screwdriver, it will leave a mark. Ask me how i know! 😩🤯 i think theres alot of bad engineering on the Kohler courage. 👎🇺🇸
