Such negative comments from grown men. Lol. Anyways, I was out in the field and didnt have my garage of tools to work with so we were kind of stuck doing a repair. Stumbled onto this video and tried the loctite super glue method and it actually worked for us lol. Allowed us to make a repair and keep on driving our tiny cars until the end of the night! Thanks for the information.

For easy to access scews, you can just use some needle nose vice grips.

No heat needed to dry that super glue. Next time Sprinkle baking soda on the super glue and it will harden instantly. Keep up the good work

Is it just me or would it make more sense to use an allen head instead of a torx bit in an allen head screw? That would reduce the amount of stripped screw heads....
@avi.d044 жыл бұрын
I think he tried to use an Allen screw and it never worked so he used a torx screw to hopefully get some grip to pull it out. I've don't the same, when Allen screws are stripped put in a torx screw of a bigger size, if the screw is plastic, hammer it in a bit and then unscrew

@@avi.d04 my ones doesn't even get out with torx but I don't use his trick it is stupid

Allen are the worst screws. I have issues with them everytime when I do my maintenance, (Sometimes I need to repleace all the piece for only one stripped allen screw) I never had this problem with the Tamiya kits that use philips

I'm about 6 years late to this game. I realize the author is young, and likely inexperienced. I'm also sure in 6 years, he's learned much better ways to handle this. - Try using a backout bit. - Dremel a slit and use a flat screwdriver to remove screw. - Carefully use vice grips. - DON'T use torx drivers in hex screws. Always use good quality, properly sized hex drivers. - DON'T use hammers. You risk damaging your driver, or the car itself. - DON'T try to use super glue. If it runs, you risk permanently gluing the screw to whatever it's attached to. Some commenters mentioned this as a track fix. If you must fix, take it home and do it right, lest you cause unneeded frustration and cost.

A good tip is hit the area with a spritz of water before hand hardens super fast

Rather go the dremel route, cut a flat notch into the screw and use the flathead to remove it.

Just want to throw this out there.... A Stainless Steel screw or bolt would have not been cut by the saw very easily... Stainless is hardened rust and oxidation resistant metal. You want regular aka mild steel or iron screws and bolts.

Ok guys and this video is to show you "how not to take out a stripped screw". All three had the possibility of a dangerous out come. Luckily nobody was hurt during the making of this video. 1st you shouldn't use glue on your tools to break something loose. 2nd a child shouldn't be using a lighter without parental supervision. 3rd you shouldn't use your hand as leverage that close to a flat head screw driver. You can easily slip and stab yourself. I strongly suggest learning how to use your tools.

Okay mommy. BTW, women really shouldn't run around with the name 'eddie.' Try Edwina. It would probably terrify you to know I, a woman, allow our children as young as five to use machetes. And guess what, my youngest is now eight and he's brave, skillful, and strong. And, God willing, won't be a man who's scared to let a kid use a lighter. If you can't trust a kid with a lighter, you have some serious parenting problems.

I guess it’s cheating but I just use a screw extra set and I replace with stainless so I don’t have a problem next time.
