This worked! My airpods gen 2 (No wireless charging) worked perfectly with my Samsung Galaxy A50. Sound was clear. But when I connected them to my Surface Pro 6 laptop, the sound was extremely muffled. I reset my airpods with this trick and now the sound is clear on both my devices! Thank You!

*fixed mine by* 1. cleaning the case and the metal 2. throwing my pods many times but not too hard. also the case i dropped it many times. 3. i placed my pods back by pressing it down in the case for minutes. (hard pressed) 4. i charged it with original charger for 2 hours. and then it worked! hope that helps
