I've learned from another channel so check this out: Since the mouse does not work use your keyboard by pressing Control, Command and the Eject button at the same time and holding them all together until the menu shows up and prompts the menu to pair bluetooth items "such as mouse" and that worked for me. I had to use my iPhone to research while my iMac was down with no mouse power. This video here didn't help me so I'm sharing it with everyone. Pass it on.

I'm running macOS Ventura. When I click on the Bluetooth symbol holding the Option & Shift keys down I don't get the menu you show in this video. It's actually quite different. For one, there's no "debug" choice. So, I'm sort of stuck at this point. As for the mouse's cursor, it only moves vertically, up & down. No problem connecting to Bluetooth.

That's a good question as we created this video on the laptop, so we used a touchpad. I recommend you to try another mouse if possible or try to use shortcuts to navigate: support.apple.com/en-us/HT204434. Vicky.

Great- but it keeps randomly hanging time i.e. freezing in place on the screen- time between failures can vary from hours to days- rebooting the mouse makes bugger all difference...

Make sure you have a wired mouse hanging around BEFORE you turn off the Bluetooth!

Most of your tips are fine and I've used them in the past successfully. BUT! Big warning to anyone having issues: When I used the Debug and reset Bluetooth module my laptop froze and I had to restore it from my backup and I lost some valuable files in the process, and after all of that, the darn mouse still does not work properly. It takes a long time to register and when it does connect it latches on to things and won't let go. If you left click on the desktop it opens a white outline box that follows the mouse and won't let go. All mouse commands no longer work--click on buttons in the upper LH corners of any window and nothing registers. I have to turn the mouse off and then I can use the track pad or a wired mouse again. I took the mouse partially apart carefully snapping off the top and found it had dust inside which I cleaned out with a compressed air can. I reassembled the mouse and nothing has changed. I tried a newer Apple mouse from my neighbour and it immediately connected and worked flawlessly. My original battery operated first edition mouse did not work on any of my other Apple computers either. Rebooting makes no difference either. I've tried everything I could think of including full shut down restarts and resets. I'm currently running OS Catalina 10.15.7 on my 2012 MacBook Pro with 16GB RAM and a fast reliable 500GB ssd. Any idea what's going on? Is the mouse shot and now destined for the recycle bin?

I have a different situation with my mouse, I don't think it's loosing connection, but sometimes when I'm moving my mouse on a mouse pad, it struggles to move. I'm moving my mouse, and the arrow on screen is trying to move. The arrow becomes slightly bigger on the screen. I'm not sure if it's a connection issue, when I move the mouse off the pad, it then works. I thought it was the pad, so I replaced it, but still encounter the same issue from time to time. I say it's not a connection issue because I can still scroll up and down on the screen. I'm not sure if it's the sensor on the pad surface? Has anyone come across this issue?

Exactly the same problem - jerky tracking on the screen and sometimes it freezes. I've tried cleaning the sensor, changing the mousepad, etc. The mouse is fully charged. I have had this problem with all my macs - from the Mac Studio to the M2 Macbook as well as older machines. The Logitech MX Ergo wired mouse is the one I prefer for the desktop systems but I'll be buying one for the Macbook too.

@@donaldgibson5669 What I've done is just use the mouse on the desk itself, and not a mouse pad. It's rare now to have the issue. That was my fix.

I almost gave up on mine. Try flipping one battery , flip the switch on/off a few times then put they battery back the right way and flip the switch as your holding the clicker down as your putting the battery back in. I was just tinkering with it and I saw the green light and it worked again

Just so you know, I have used Apple iMac, wireless mouse, and keyboard. I WILL NOT BE BUYING MORE APPLE UNTIL THE JUMPY WIRELESS MAGIC MOUSE PROBLEM IS FIXED. Its a shame this same pattern of kicking the can down the road ala Britain's POSTAL SCAM is now everywhere in the business solution community.
