For those of you who are having the problem with the empty regback directory, this is how I got around that. First, my windows drive is C, not D Second, the X Drive holds the files in my case during the troubleshooting portion of this. I backed up the system32/config files on the C Drive as the video showed then went to the X Drive and copied the system32/config files to the C Drive, same folder After a lengthy reboot, everything came back up. Hope this helps

The newer Windows10 versions do not backup the registry files into system32/config/RegBack . You have to manually enable it again in registry and/or set a Task , or use Windows Backup.
