Hey there scotty I drive a honda crv 2000 I had a problem with the brakes.. it made my vehicle slow down.. I'm assumed that my calipers were bad and so did my parents, so I managed to get brand new calipers and brake hoses for both the driver and passenger side of my vehicle.. I'm still having the same issue, when the car cools down it turns on and drives perfectly but after 15 minutes the brake paddle hardens and my vehicle struggles to accelerate due to the friction of the brake pads, it always smells like burnt brake pads down there, can you maybe suggest some possible issues thanks

@GraniteBees not always, it pulled to the left on that road the way it was pitched as that wheel continued to move on the left following the drainage of the road. which side pulls where is always dependant on many variables. that's why you check both sides before doing any work.

BRAKES PULL TO ONE SIDE If your vehicle suddenly swerved to one side when you apply the brakes, there is uneven braking side-to-side. This usually means one front brake is not working properly. The pull will be toward the side with the good brake (because it is doing all the work). Brake pull can be caused by brake fluid, oil or grease on the brake pads, a stuck caliper, a blockage in the brake line to one of the front calipers, or sometimes loose wheel bearings. A brake pull can also be caused by different types/brands of brake pads side-to-side on the front brakes. Different friction materials have different friction characteristics, so the brakes will pull toward the side that generates the most friction.

@MicrosoftCPU3 the reason I haven't made evap repair videos is because you really need a dealer level scan tool and a smoke machine to make such repairs correctly. Without just wild guessing. And seeing that most people will never buy such expensive equipment, such videos would be useless for most people. and yes, cannisters do break down if you want to guess on an evap repair.

good video ah changed both calipars and pads and bleed the system but the left side locks and calipar wont release but if I bleed the sticky calipar it releases. So I think the calipar is fine because it is new. Do you think I should change my rubber flex line? Before doing the brake job the left side was locked and wheel was smoking hot so I changed the calipars on the front with new brake pads. But left side calipar wont release unless I bleed it to release the pressure

Ok to Scotty & the commenters here's the deal. For as many videos Scotty's posted here it would just seem prudent to add some words and caution regarding safety. Overall the advice on these videos is intelligent from having 44 years of experience, however I add: 1. When jacking any vehicle to work on it, always support with quality jackstands, a must! 2. Generally speaking brakes line are very rusted and don't break loose this easily. 3. Brake fluid is caustic to paint, use caution. Good luck!

Hey scott, Im stomped. Ive done my brake on my car (00 firebird) since I got 10 yrs ago. This last brake job, my left caliper was stuck pinching the rotor. So bought a new caliper, but issue stayed. I bled the system which Ive never done since I did the first job, and still nothing. scotty, i have a 01 ford ranger with a 5 speed manual, the brakes themselves are fine but when i set the Ebrake it sticks and i have to pull the latch and hit the rear drums with a hammer to fully release them, do you have any ideas on how to fix this?
