*Install was easy **fireplace.homes** good although I personally had some difficulty with the thermostat I had. Issue was mine though, not realizing that electric heaters couldn't use oil thermostats. Tip: If you are using an external thermostat, run the power to the thermostat, not the unit. Once that was squared away it worked great.*

Thank you! Your issue was the same as ours. I cleaned it up and it works great! My son is so grateful!!! 🎉

Thanks Ron. This issue and basic repair can work with many heaters and even hairdryers etc.. If you have pets and humidity the dust and hair become sticky, so simply blowing out a heater probably won't repair the heater. The sticky dust will build up near the heating elements and when there is too much it causes the thermal overload sensor to shut the unit off. If your heater has been off for awhile, then you turn it on and everything seems fine for two or three minutes, then it shuts down, well that's the sensor doing it. If the heater will not come on at all, there may be a reset button or fuse out. If there is no such thing, the tip over switch may have failed, which is easy to bypass and check. From my perspective, most $50.00 to $70.00 space heaters should be replaced at least every 6 years for safety purposes. Even the oil radiator style. The reason being, constant heat will make the wiring brittle over time and that can cause a fire!

Mine heats up and works fine for 10 minutes but then quits... I took it apart today and blew all of the dust out but that didn't fix anything.. I was a little excited when he mentioned the ThermoCouple at the 2:22 mark...but he didn't go any further on that ! *Liked/Subscribed !*

Ya, that was all that was wrong with this one very dirty, try cleaning again and pay attention to the motor that drives the squirrel cage may not be turning fast enough.

There was minimal dust inside of mine, and I was hoping for some kind of tutorial on replacing the fuse if it had one. It turns on, but will not turn on heat or oscillate.

Liked your video... simple & direct. My heater... no power to it at all. I've had it for about 8 years, Used it very little for about 5 years. Just noticed the indicator light was off. Tried to turn it on, nothing. I looked for any kind or reset switch... nothing found. It does have the button on the bottom, if it tips over it shuts off. I've moved it to a flat floor... still no power after plugged in & turned on. Of course I'd rather fix than landfill it. Any suggestions? Pacific Living Home brand model 1840 ceramic tower heater.

I've taken it apart 2 times and after a while the fan seems fine. But when used with the heat it eventually stops. It's not dirty at all. I put liquid silicone on the shaft. but when used for a while the fan goes for some minutes and then just barely turns. It's like the fan struggles to get started but when it gets going it's full speed. Any ideas what the next step might be?

Sounds like the bearings are heating up you may want to take apart and clean bearings? hard to tell but I would start thires dirt somewhere.

What do you do if the only thing wrong is that it doesn't oscillate?

I have that. I blew some dust out and it started working. Now its not. Then I opened the top and it worked just fine. I can't figure out how to open the body up to clean all of it. I've done all my heaters but the force is with this one

So heaters are kinda like vacuum cleaners sucking up debris and dust.

KNOW that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 UNDERSTAND the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23 CONFESS that Jesus Christ is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. Romans 10:9 REPENT of your sins Luke 13:3 READ and STUDY God's Word to show yourself approved. 2 Timothy 2:15 PUT ON the whole armor of God. Ephesians 6:11 BEWARE of the son of perdition who is coming first disguised as Jesus to oppose and exalt himself above all that is called God, or worshipped. 2 Thessalonians 2:3,4 WATCH and PRAY until the true Christ returns. Luke 12:37 Remain as a chaste virgin waiting for her true husband. (Christ)2 Corinthians 11:2 Shepherds chapel on KZbin explains the whole Bible God bless.
