Space Heater Maintenance & Cleaning

Winter is almost here! Space heaters work great for heating small rooms but can fail over time especially when you need them. Most of the time it just needs a good cleaning. You can do it yourself with a few tools and time. Just remember to unplug the appliance before starting.

I have a unit similar to this one, I want to install a switch to turn off the heating element so that only the fan blower will run, which wire should I switch? Perhaps the ground wire that connects to the heating element ?

Really great video, so easy to follow, took mine apart, got rid of all the dust etc. ; put it all back together, and from not working....voila! now heater works great. (Less than 10 minutes in total). 👍👍

Space heater similar to the one you showed stopped working 3 days ago, I was gonna throw it out and buy a new one. Just happened to see your video and ill be damned if vacuuming out the dust didn't make it work good as new. Thank you very much 👍👍

Hey, my comfort zone heater is rattling so I'm here for sort of the same problem, taking my heater apart and putting it back together showed me a different side of what we live and I think I'm addicted to taking stuff apart and putting it back together since I never really got to do that as a kid

Thanks for the video.... I never thought it would be that easy to fix our space heaters. Although they were sunbeam models... still basically the same i took my shop vac and sucked all the dirt... then reversed the hose and throughly blew out the rest.... bingo

I have a lasko until few years old same motor got really clogged and never cleaned it over 4 years so I'm guessing I broke it due to improper maintance

mine in about 5 secs goes up to 90 degrees and shuts off, it shows a 88 on the screen, can't figure out whats wrong. I cleaned all the parts, the thermo fuse has continuity, I don't know what else to do, any advise? thank you sir!

u dont need multi meter if u put power on few electric shock will let u know if it has power 😃

Hi my heater fell over and it stopped working. The light turns on and beeps but there is nothing happening on the digital readout. I opened it and cleaned out the squirrel cage but didn't go as far as you did, I can redo that part but could that be the problem with it or maybe that switch you showed?

my fake fireplace heater stopped working after power outage. I'm watching your videos but this one is different. It has 4 switches 1 power on/off, fan, high/low, and oscillator, a motherboard looking thing.
