I found the update add-in, ABBYY Fine Reader 9.0 Sprint program, ( that another lady had posted as a problem) on my Word program but not on the Excel program. When I get to the add-Ins, it says that I have NO active application Add-ins, Just like yours did in 4:51. Under Excel Options window at the bottom of that screen make sure you select right next to manage EXCEL ADD-INS and then click go, all the add ins should appear ;-)

soupalove hang, just make sure you disable the ad-on from ABBYY finereader, just follow the instructions on the video tutorial and you should be able to disable that ad-on and get rid of that error.

Thanks for the tip. But my problem is slightly different. I get the "MS Excel stopped working" message everytime I'm trying to open up a specific saved .docx file in Word. I can circumvent this by opening Excel first (any file would do). But without this step, the message pops up repeatedly upon opening my saved word document. I already "broke" all the links to the Excel file in the document but that didn't fix anything. Any idea's?

Semmeh, that is very strange I'll suggest you check any other add-on program to your Microsoft Office Suite, disable them and see if it works, last option try a fresh copy of office.

You may have a pirate version of office. Follow my instructions, make sure that you open excel in safe mode by while excel is closed press and hold windows logo key plus “R” a little box will open the type in “Excel.exe/safe” and then hit enter; excel should open then and you can follow the other steps from the video. Ken Mayer We must determine if the Excel can work in safe mode in order for us to do that follow the steps below: Press Win+R, in the dialog box type: Excel.exe /safe Click Ok to ok. If it can work, disable all of the Excel add-ins and then start Excel again. Click on File Click Excel Options Click Add-Ins Disable one by one add-in and try to open Excel as you normally do. Good luck Ken I hope this will help you, one more thing the video tutorial is working fine I just check the video and is running properly in that case you may want to reset IE if you use internet explorer as your browser in order for the video to play correctly. ;-)

Shaharear Kabir that is very strange by default when office is installed on a pc it also install it's own add-ons, the solution I uploaded here is for when people install 3rd party software this software come with its own add-on and many times cause Excel to crash that us why we have to disable those ad-on. Add-ins and add-on in excel are just simple software extensions that you can add to your excel ribbon or tool bar to perform different calculations and save time. Now let's say that you need as new printer, you buy the printer and when you are installing the printer software many times this companies ad and extension tool (small software program) that is also installed on Microsoft Office as an ad extension, that means that you will have an extra tool in your ribbon to use with your new printer, now unfortunately this add-on or add-in not always work correctly with your excel software program and we have to remove that add-on to resolve the issue.

If you have the 2010 version you could try the following. 1.- Go to Control Panel. 2.- Select Uninstall a program. 3.- Scroll down and look for your Office 2010. 4.- Right click on and select CHANGE. 5.- Microsoft Office 2010 window will pop-up. 6.- Select REPAIR and then click on continue, from here just follow the prompts it may take about 10 to 30 minutes to finish the process by it self. After the process is done just re-start your computer "good luck" ;-)
