Wish I would have seen this last year. Mine went out and I bought a replacement for $700. Kenny Electric was able to get it to me next day when everywhere else was 10 days minimum. Even checked grainger.

@@jefferycurtismusic1602 been good thanks. Just stumbled across your channel and I remembered doing the same thing. I work on industrial motors every day. These are weird little motors. It was over 100 degrees and I didn’t want to mess with it. I briefly picked at the resin to see if I could get to the thermistor. Gave up quick and ordered a replacement motor. My home is not well insulated and we were miserable. I even paid for next day air. Haha. Good to know for next time I can save some money. I might just go ahead and buy one now so it’s on the shelf. Thinking about buying a spare well pump since mine is not one that is usually on the shelf. My well stopped working a few months ago and I pulled it up myself. It’s a 1 1/2 hp and the largest they have anywhere around here is 1 hp. Same with the electrical control box. I had to call a well company and pay them to bring one out to me. But at least they had it.

if your talking about the normal max speed you need to look at the specs when you purchase. If you talking about the variable speed control, then yes it is a drop in replacement... thanks.

I need a 1 HP 230V evergreen motor. Does it matter if it’s a GE evergreen or a Carrier? Not sure why they make didn’t versions if it’s a generic drop in replacement. Appreciate the videos!

Just look at the horsepower and rpm of the motor you are replacing, as well as the voltage 120/240. get a comparable one. Evergreens are drop-in replacements, mine is still going strong. Thanks for watching.

I guess I should say first, these are digital motors. So you need to be sure of the application. If its digital it will have that big side plug, next, it does matter, some motors are not drop in replacements, if they are not you have to make sure the hp, rotation direction, and rpm is the same, along with the shaft length and size, If it is a drop in, like the evergreen, it will auto sense rotation direction, but the rest needs to be the same. If it is not digital, look at hp, direction, rpm, voltage, and shaft length and size. (voltage is important on all of them actually.)

What about the need to program these ecm motors. Does the evergreen motor not need that step? Do you lose some of the energy efficiency with a plug and play motor that isn’t programmed for your unit? I have a trane package unit and the blower won’t stop running, diagnosed as a module problem.

No they don't, they are auto sensing. just plug and play... made it way easy..

Hi! Awesome video! I have a couple questions for you. My blower motor wasnt running, My thermisitor measures 1.5 ohms. I jumped the thermisistor and turned on the blower motor. It spins a few times and stops, then spins a few times and stops, is this what its supposed to do? My thermisister is an NTC 10 1122. Is the one you listed a replacement for what i have? Thanks!!

No it should run continuously when on. sounds like it is something other than your thermistor.

yes, its a digital motor, it also is direction detecting, so it's plug and play..

Mine was a drop in replacement, all I did was put it in, plug it in, and it has worked perfectly since. its been a few years now.

@@jefferymorseministries9406 we are starting to think it’s the motherboard now. The brown wire isn’t pushing a signal to the fan but the others are. Having a hard time finding a motherboard for it. You mentioned in the video you had another page? I’d love to check it out as well. What’s it called?
