Don't cut / splice the wire. These " molex " pins are easy to de pin. Reach inside the plug with a small pick or paper clip from the terminal end. Press down the holding fixture / catch and slide the entire terminal backwards out of the plug. Bend the pin slightly out to ensure positive catch and reinsert the entire terminal into the plug in the desired position. You should be able to unpin and re pin this entire plug in less than 2 minutes. Yes - it's that easy.

Thanks for sharing this. This was my airflow culprit. The replacement module for a blower was blowing in reverse and had I no idea after wasting cycles trying to figure out why the blower wasn’t blowing faster even after messing with controller board CFM settings. Sure enough, reversing the polarity like you demonstrated was the fix.

If you had a terminal pin kit, you could remove the pins in the molex connector really easily and just switch them that way. I've had to rewire so many ABS harnesses this way.
@hullinstruments3 жыл бұрын
Yep and usually you can get away without the kit, most connectors and terminal pens are accessible with a tiny screwdriver or straightened paper clip.

You can use a pin tool to remove them instead of cutting

I have one I need to reverse right now. The wires are red,blue and yellow with blue in the center. So the red and yellow wires are correct wires to change? 3:35

I reversed polarity by following those wires back to their connection point and swapping them there.

Which Molex tool is used to remove the wire connectors? I have a new Emerson x13 motor that is running backwards (out of warranty). Purchased 6/2/2021, installed 12/20/2021, evaporator/line freezing now that hot weather is here. Help will be greatly appreciated!!

@@JumpermanTech I'd guess you could reverse the source plug wires as well?

What happened with the burned component inside the ECM, what was the cause and why didn't you replace it
@Garth2011 Жыл бұрын
Cheap materials and a flawed design. Those modules are $800 to $1,200 to replace...almost the same price as a complete new motor assembly.

Those Gentec X13 modules aren't reliable and expensive to replace. They aren't worth $800 or more if they are going to keep on failing. Those modules should be redesigned by the manufacturer and given a 10 year or longer warranty to make up for the ridiculous past.

Why don't the damn manufacturers of these garbage variable speed motors tell us this? A simple little piece of paper in the box with literature and diagram would be useful. Be Nooo that's asking to much of them!!.
