I ordered this for my husband's 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 navigation screen, which started acting up a few weeks before the 36 month warranty expired in 2021. Everything controlled by the screen was useless. He didn't take it in to the dealership in time and was quoted over a $1000.00 to replace the computer and the screen, because they don't just replace the screen. Fast forward, almost 4 years later, I found this product online, ordered it, and he watched the video and installed it in under 2 ho urs. Everything seems to be working just fine and so glad this product is an upgrade from what came with the vehicle. Plus, made in America! He is so glad he can blue tooth to his car again, navigate, make phone calls, etc. Thanks for making a great product. Fingers crossed that it keeps on working for at least the 2 years the warranty was for. I wish now he had allowed me to get the lifetime warranty.......

Just finished this project up and it's working perfectly so far. The worst part of it all was removing the old touch screen and cleaning off the adhesive. I used a heat gun, a razor blade, and some acetone to clean it up - took about 45 min on this step. Everything else was pretty straightforward and quick. I used a new touchscreen I bought on Amazon for about $35 - we'll see how it holds up over time.

Agreed... I think removing the old adhesive was the most tedious part.

Absolutely phenomenal video. Biggest pain for me was removing the adhesive. Used goo gone, nail polish remover and took me at least an hour to do that. Then I put the new digitizer upsidedown. I almost lost my mind, however I was able to peel it off and flip it right side up. It's working flawlessly now, but my bezel doesn't seat properly anymore. I don't think I'm missing a clip or anything. Anyway great instructional video and thank you so much for sharing with us.

Just finished this project today. Everything went exactly as he described it, $30 into the new digitizer , its in and it works. Time will tell if it fixed my problem or not.

Try spraying pledge on a rag an then clean the screen! Sounds crazy but it works

Great video! Unfortunately the touch screen you listed said unavailable so I went with another one and it was worse off. Even got all the glue off and everything. Might have to go the dealer route now

I did almost the same things. I did not separate the metal frame and faulty digitizer from the larger glass screen because the metal frame is easily bent. All other actions were the same. Been two days and so far it works like new.

So is the outside screen the problem here? If so, what is it that is failing? I don't see cracked glass. Maybe just cleaning it really good will fix the issues? Someone on this comment thread said to clean with pledge, but I have also seen comments on other forums that say do NOT clean with anything other than soap and water, as you don't want to leave an oily residue. Pledge is made to clean wood, and does leave an oily residue, so not sure thats the best thing to use. Just trying to understand what exactly is failing with the screen?

Has anyone had any issues with the SERVICE LOW BATTERY light coming on after changing the screen out? The screen works minty now with no issues. Just not sure why the SERVICE LOW BATTERY light is on now. Battery is new and alternator is working as it should. Thanks in advance.

Oddly enough, when I plug in my Android auto play (cord), the phantom screen jumps stopped. It seems to me GM should be replacing these defective screens under warranty 😅
