How to Fix HDMI Connection Not Working On Windows 11

thank you! i know its an older video. but, i have a gpd win 3 that got updated to windows 11 and it has been having intermittent issues connecting to a monitor through its dock. i tried the turn it off and back on but i hadnt tried an extended power off. it worked and i have my monitor back! thanks again!

Thank you a million. I've pretty much tried everything possible to get my laptop to detect the HDMI port. Had i known this in advance i would have saved over 1 hour of my time. Just a hard reset did the trick.

This literally is the issue on lots of laptops using a GTX graphics card, after boot up it just refuses to detect external monitors.

@@songokumusic9103 Yes the problem was the new drivers that windows 11 refuses to accept on some laptops and breaks hdmi functionality. I had to downgrade to version 382.05 and it works

@@Adversity-ki9xb In my case it was literally the new drivers that didnt want to work with W11 for some reason i had to roll back to old and they work.

@@ralseidreemurr2682 yeah. Another option I found is that with some of the usb to hdmi adapters they have a driver built inside, which you can install. Only thing is u gotta be able to trust the company

Hard reset worked for me, been sitting here for like 2 hours trying to fix, messing around in the device manager enabling and disabling things lol, I was just about to give up thank-you you gained a like.

My laptop screen will only work when its connected to a tv by an hdmi cable. Even if the tv is turned off which makes no sense. I changed the display setting to pc only but then the screen goes black again. Please help!!🙏🏽🙏🏽😢

Hey look I just want to help people with this problem if your using a laptop usually if you tried everything and you’re experiencing ( No signal ) with your hdmi after an update or whatever the case maybe I get it I have the same problem. Just buy an HDMI to dvi adapter & use that instead and it should fix your issue by being a more responsive source. Most people have broken laptop screens apparently like me and doing an update such a windows or nvidia clean install can actually mess up your display connection to your monitor now Idk why it does that but it’s something clearly wrong with forgetting your monitor display during certain updates and will render back into your first laptop screen display thus keeping you from getting back to your 2nd monitor display. Now I can’t promise you this will help but it’s indeed is the biggest thing you can do plus the cord is 8-15$ from best buy or walmart. So try it & hope it fixes your problem. If it works spread this around so it can help others from desperation 😂 now it’s either that or repairing your laptop screen , if it’s none of those issues its either your ram sticks , or a faulty within your laptop itself and needs a computer technician to take a look at.
