Must find that clock! But it has become a bit of a standing joke. I can't believe the batteries have lasted so long.

You really are too kind. It's more Bodget and Scarper rather than master builder. But I do try :)

Great job, you saved hundreds doing it this way.

I always like to find some way of doing it myself, and if it saves money and looks acceptable, all to the good.

Question about that oil dipstick. I've had several 750s with that oil tank (K7, K8, F1) and the dipstick was always plastic. Reckon that's an aftermarket part there, or did European versions get metal?
@SPANNERRASH

To be honest I am not sure. The tank is from an "F" model, and other than this one I haven't ever had a play with one. It is quite likely an aftermarket part, there was a lot that came wit this bike, the PO had spent a lot before I bought it.

Ya know your bike is old when you have to make new parts yourself. Well done. "Aluminium". There are a lot of words that get a pass because of region: courgette vs. zucchini, but I admit that I avoid talking about "Aluminum" with anybody but another Yank. ;)

It seemed that it wasn't running right to me, it maybe cause your anxillary fuel tank was too high. I had mine high when connected to my carbed FireBlade and it flooded and stalled. Lowering it to about the height of my normal tank and it ran fine. Just a suggestion in case you have the same issue. Nice bike.

I haven't got it dialled in yet, but I have never considered the height of the tank. I will certainly give your idea some thought next time I am using the aux tank.

Not wanting to criticize your work but that angle grinder with no gaurd looked well dodgy, as your glove showed later, those oil pipes, you could of gone to a hydraulic hose shop and they would have supplied the pipe and crimped up onto the 4 in/out couplings, it would look better if you had some of that honda style sheathing over the rubber hoses to, one of my pet hates is that bottom pipe jubilee clip having the screw head inboard instead of outbound for ease of tightening if it leaks again, its hard to be critical of your workmanship buts its just my observation,. cheers ,.

I hear what you say about the grinder, I can't say I am always happy in the way that it is used, but frequently you can't get in to where you want if you have the guard on. I did consider trying to find a hose shop, but I am not unhappy with how they have turned out. I always like to have solutions that I can do myself. Take care :)

I tried a hydraulic hose company and they weren’t interested, so unless you have a personal contact, it’s very unlikely a commercial company would take this on and if they did it could be very expensive. Great video and please ignore all the ‘wise owls’ 😂

@@SPANNERRASH Love the way you are always polite and pragmatic in your responses even when people are having a moan. What a gent 😊. I thought you did a super job.

A multi would have been useful for cutting the fittings, not as aggressive as an angle grinder,if you have one of course, but nice work anyway 👍

The fittings were quite tough. I am not sure what you mean by a multi, but if you mean a Dremel type tool I find that the cutting blades shatter for fun, maybe I am too heavy handed.

Wrestling a freshly painted oil tank out of a freshly painted frame, that's what I call living dangerously.. On the subject of having misadventures torquing up bolts, I just read the other day that applying thread locker to a thread acts as a temporary lubricant, and that you should reduce the torque by 25-30% as you do when using an anti seize compound or oil on threads, something that I would have never considered.

As soon as you paint it you know you are going to scratch it :( That's a good point about the threadlocker consideration, it is something we all need to take seriously. You only need to strip one thread near the completion of a rebuild to spoil your whole week.

No offense and it’s absolutely nothing personal because you’re just as nice a guy as your son, but I am more a cars guy. That’s why I would like to know why I can’t not subscribe only for the car videos?

No offence, but how hard is it just to scroll past the bike videos? 2 seconds?
@SPANNERRASH

Hi Dennis, I don't believe there is a way to subscribe only to select videos on a channel. As Martin suggests, scrolling past hopefully won't be too taxing.
