Loved the prone idea, in fact, I watched the rest of the video with my laptop laying on its back and my hands on the coffee table! Fantastic hack! Worked on my ankle flexion while extending through thoracic spine. Going to work up to a hands-free, deadlift position. You're brilliant! Thank you!

Have you done any videos on having better posture while studying at a desk or doing something that requires extended periods of writing by hand? I'm studying a language and can definitely feel the effects of a few hours of taking notes and doing homework.
@PLUG313x Жыл бұрын
the thing is none of these positions feel comfortable while holding a book/kindle and then I can't retain any information at all because I end up concentrated on how uncomfortable I'm feeling 😢 the hunchback positions are the only ones comfortable enough to read for extended periods of time... I really want to do better but I don't know how...

Thanks for these useful tips and reminders. I like your clear explanatiions, and the mention of both pro's and con's of each technique. Above all your friendly and down-to-earth manner makes it easy for me to pay attention to the end. These tips fit my own situation perfectly and I'll be trying to remember to follow them!

3:19 This is super helpful, and exactly the tip I was looking for! I also try to remind myself to keep my phone elevated just like a book, so I'm not hunching when on my phone. It's hard when I have to keep up the effort in my arm, but I might just need to get better.

All of these tips apply to using your phone at home, as well! But what about laying on the couch watching TV/Movies for extended periods of time… we are all guilty of this!

for using laptop I use a stand that sits on the desk. Fully adjustable for height and tilt, also has a built in fan to keep laptop cool. I stand while using it so can stretch and move.

Love this video, it was a helpful watch. But, it's hard to apply with textbooks because they're too heavy. Do you have recommendations for working at a desk or sitting on the couch while reading a heavy book?

Adding a few more audio books...reading books is great for you but audiobooks are great in a different way (empathy building vs. cognitive activation) and you can do all sorts of things listening to audio books.

How about lying flat on the floor w arms extended up? I do this while using my phone. Also helps limit time on it bc I can only hold my arms straight up in the air for so long. 🤣

I spend many many hours reading in a supported squat in my recliner-feet up beside my butt, with my thoracic spine and head on a half foam roller- a good chest opener, too. I’m going to try the forward bent back extension tho as a break.

Great ideas for reading, thank you. Do you have any ideas for preparing food at the kitchen counter. I love to cook. Today I was peeing ginger and my neck was really hurting. I peel a lot at once and freeze it so I always have fresh ginger.
@knuj1012 жыл бұрын
I do a lot of food prep at the kitchen counter and find that if I have my feet parallel about 4 inches apart, knees pushing outward, bellybutton to the backbone and butt tight and tucked under, it helps me keep my back straight and releases the tension. This is a move or position that I learned from Teresa Tapp and her Senior Fit T-Tapp program. A few months ago I realized how much it helped my lower back, shoulders & neck when “chopping and peeling” in the kitchen. As soon as I feel pain…into position. Vacuuming and even just standing is better. And it is starting to become a habit. I’m past 70 years, a couple of weeks ago found Upright Health & my goal is to be able to be comfortable in an Asian Squat by this time next year. Im working on it most every day at least a little.

Thanks for these ideas...will put them into practice 😊 Just a comment - and I hope you take it the right way, just trying to be informative in case your are not aware of it - I can see that wrote wear glass, so for that ... A T M also 😉 Refractive problems are to do with the eye muscles being tense or not strong enough, or not in balance, so the same way that you work any muscles in the rest of your body, you can also work your eye muscles and restore your vision. I hope this helps.🤗
