About your methods, Troubleshooting rarely works + some laptops don't have more than a single driver like me, and is not updated anymore. So this will definetely not work on a lot of users. Usually people need specific solutions. Some people here might have a totally different problem than me. Say - someone here has their PC not detecting sounds, and I - have my mic working, my PC saying it's working, but my mic itself not recording any sound. And my problem is specifically on my laptop. Other people tried using my mic and it worked.

Go to: - right click on "Sounds" (system tray icon) - right click on "Recording" - right click on "Microphone" - select it as "Set a default communication device". - This worked for me. It was set to headset as default. Just change it. Thank me later. :)

I am using Rode NT1a with Focusrite 2i2 3rd gen audio interface with Phantom power on . I can see my microphone connected to my win 10 laptop , but I can only hear microphone picking up very feeble signals at max gain of audio interface.
