Hey man, thanks for the recommendations. They were very helpful. After your video I used the standard windows voice recording program, simply because I needed something quick. She is relatively good. But unfortunately, at least for me, the volume of the produced recording is very low. But I also tried the one you also recommended Audacity and in fact her sound seems much cleaner and louder even at low PC volume settings. So thanks!

Thank you. That was by far the easiest Audacity video I have watched. I feel much more confident about using it now. I would like to make a video for You Tube which is audio with a still picture - is this easy to do? I am finding it really difficult to find out how to do it. I haven't made anything on You Tube yet and I would really like to get started with an easy project.

You're like an announcer for some sports event. Why are you doing tutoriels? You should do commercials. (If you have done commercial before then I guess this comment was really unneeded.) Anyways, this was really a useful tutoriel. Thanks for making this. I was kinda hoping you'd teach how to remove white noise from the background, too. My friend sent me this telling me I should watch a tutoriel for reducing white noise. I was kinda disappointed that you didn't do that.

Hey Kevin. I've been using Audacity for several years to record my speaking sections of a radio show. For some years, I had no problems. But recently, when recording, some of my words don't record or are cut off at the beginning or end, and sometimes these cut-offs are accompanied by a "pop." Sadly enough, that means I can no longer record a voice segment from start to finish, but I have to record only one sentence at a time -- this is so -- if I do have cut offs or drop outs -- I can rerecord only that one sentence as opposed to rerecording lengthier sections where more drop-offs will likely occur. As you can imagine, it's now a lengthy process to record any voice segment. The reason I'm typing this here is that I can't find any information about potential fixes, either from Audacity forums or Windows Q&As - it seems no one else has the same exact problem - and if they do have something close, the solutions provided typically don't help the person with the problem. Therefore I'm wondering if you might have ever run across the dilemma I'm facing or if you could point me in the direction of "experts" who might be able to answer the questions. At this point, I would hate to stop using Audacity since I love everything about it, but I may not have another choice and will need to find other recording software that is reliable. Thanks for all the tutorials you've done! All the best.

Thanks! This seems like a great solution! I normally plug a clip microphone in my smartphone, when I record KZbin tutorials. And edit them in Moviemaker. I also add pictures to my videos. As well as narrations, which I've recorded within Moviemaker. But the narration recordings sounded so low, compared to the sound of the videos I recorded on my smartphone. You could hear the difference in audio quality. So what is the best solution to deal with these kinds of gaps in audio quality? Is it better to use audacity for recordings and add them to Moviemaker afterwards? Best regards from The Netherlands! Teresa
@shoe56722 жыл бұрын
I have personally found that using software that is intentionally built for recording, like OBS, can result in better overall audio quality. It's difficult to record later, and it can always feel off if you're not perfect. Also movie maker has its limitations unless you're paying for premium. A great alternative is recording it in OBS or with a studio microphone on a good camera, And then adding a VST to your audio afterwards boosting the gain if it's too quiet, or balancing other audio levels. A great alternative to movie Maker is DaVinci Resolve. It's technically freemium, but it's $300 for a lifetime subscription. On my main channel I have been doing KZbin for a while and I've still not purchased it. However You get 90% of the features for free, which is more than enough for most things. To then she was used to color correct and add effects to movies like inception, several marvel movies, and other high fidelity graphic features. So it's definitely an excellent option. Hope that helps

Great tutorial on using both apps...I just found out Windows 10 had a voice recorder. Do you know of any free (open source) apps that record from your computer like recording a webinar? I love to watch webinars and most companies will give you 30 days to re-watch them. Most of the time I forget to go back and watch to make thorough notes. If I could record them, I could go back and watch them anytime. Thanks.

OBS, or Open Broadcasting Software, is free, and that's what it's designed for. It's got a bit of a learning curve, but there are dozens of KZbin tutorials that will explain everything you need to know. With OBS you can record audio and video in real time, and it will save them as a video to your PC.
