How to Fix Minecraft /Forge Exit Code : 1

I have no mods, I have Java 17, no ressource pack etc and it still won't work... Edit 1h later (after weeks of trying): I managed! I manually donloaded AMD Software Adrenalin Edition (for my AMD Graphic card) and it solved the issue. Tried everything else, even updated AMD via the Windows driver update and it hadn't worked. Hoping it helps others!

the forge version was installed with java 8 you need to delete java 8 and download forge again

@@keileeuwerink5129 so, i moved every mod in another folder on desktop and started moving every mod one by one manually in the real mod folder, it toom a while but i found out the "bad" mods. One tips is maybe searching for some -fabric mods that you might have installed by mistake (or forge, depending on wich client you are playing on) and check of all the mods are compatible for your game client version (usually the mod is saved like this: modname_mod.version-game.version ; or something like that)

In short, Minecraft support helped solve this problem. Personally, the problem I had was that my computer account name had an invalid "!" I quote: "There is a bug in Java's programming that makes it so if there is any alt code or special character in the name of your computer, it will not work properly. Basically, the program searches for files where it thinks they are but cannot find them. This isn't anything to do with the game, but the Java Runtime Environment itself." I personally solved this problem by reinstalling Windows and creating a new name, since to change a nickname you need to delve into the computer’s registry, and this can cause errors and crashes in the system. It is also possible to create another account with a name from A to Z without any characters, and this problem should not occur when the game crashes. I never thought this would be a problem, funny.

I had a feeling my user was the issue… on my old computer where I didn’t have my user with the “!” It worked perfectly fine.. built a new pc, with my user containing “!” And bam! Crash exit code 1 every time!

Nope. No mods in my folder, deleted the .minecraft folder, uninstalled and reinstalled minecraft, got rid of old java versions and installed the one in the description, deleted the forge version in the launcher, installed it again for the correct versionand still exit code 1 crash.

I was able to load the game and play with mods on 1.20.1 and then I installed optifine and it stopped working with exit code 1. I got rid of optifine and took all the mods out of my mods folder and forge will still not work.

I've had a similar problem for a few days. It all probably started after the last launcher update. The game started sometimes and sometimes didn't, and "exit code: 1" appeared, and sometimes my computer restarted. However, we still managed to play occasionally for a few days. I have been playing for 4 years on version 1.16.5 with a permanent, unchanged mod pack. A few days ago it stopped turning on at all. All attempts ended with a computer reset. I uninstalled all mods except forge 36.2.39. Minecraft has started. I started adding one mod at a time. It turned out that the culprit was Inventory Tweaks. The game started for me with all the other mods. Today I tried to look for a similar mod to inventory tweaks. I found inventory profiles next. I installed it. Exit code 1 popped up. I deleted it again. The game stopped starting. I removed all mods except forge mod. The game does not start. I tried running clean version 1.16.5 without forge mod. The game does not start. I deleted all minecraft and reinstalled it. I ran 1.16.5 vanilla. I repeated the operation several times, because sometimes the game started and sometimes the computer was reset. I decided to install several other versions of forge 36.2.20, 36.2.29, 36.2.39, 36.2.34. Similar effect. I installed java 17. The effect is the same. Now I can't even run pure Minecraft 1.16.5 because it freezes and resets my computer. I don't know what to do anymore. The most interesting thing is that on the second, older computer, where the same minecraft 1.16.5 and the same mods are installed. To be sure, I only removed this inventory tweaks mod. The game starts. The difference between the computers is that the old one still has Win 7 (I have Win10) and the launcher has not been updated. (I play on the server with my daughter, so that's why I have the same Minecraft). Now we can't play together because I can't run minecraft with mods on my computer in any way. Can anyone help? I'm planning to make my own Minecraft series with the Create mod along with other mods, like the Adventure Backpack mod as well as Cracker's wither storm mod. Unfortunately, I can't get onto Minecraft forge 1.20.1 because of the freaking Error 1. Check your mods, you might have outdated mods. If it is not a mod issue, then you might have an outdated Java, see forge 1.16.5 might work with Java 8 but forge 1.20.1 will most likely need Java 17 at least.

Hello, i would need further help por favor :') I have the latest version of Java and forge, i usually play with BMC2 or 3 with curseforge and it works fine. I tried to install BMC4 on my computer and my GF's one. It works on her, so does my BMC4 server (which runs on my computer). BUT my own game keeps crashing with code one even after following everything was advised in this video. Can someone help please ? Btw, if it can be of some help my graphic cards are : "AMD Radeon (TM) Graphics" and "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060" i don't know a ship about these things so i don't even know if what i said makes sense but anyway...
