Nice video except for the sound in the last half. I see that some of you techs use the double stick tape instead of the glue. Is there a reason for that?
@CaliRamirez8314 жыл бұрын
The main reason is that most glues harden unevenly or wont bond properly to the metal or plastics. The other reason is that sometimes it seems like you add the right amount but when you seal the device it pushed the excess glue out and possibly onto other components. Double sided tape on the other hand can easily be heat activated. First you lay it on the device then once the device is closed you add a bit of heat with a heat gun or plate to make sure it bonds properly, and when you want to open the device again heat will soften the adhesive tape making it easier to reopen. Hope that helps.

Great video, man. The only additional recommendation I'd make is cleaning that outer edge with isopropyl prior to applying the new gasket adhesive. Probably overkill to a lot of people, but it may benefit some. Wouldn't want the new adhesive to adhere improperly due to preexisting residue or grime. It'll definitely help keep the adhesive from lifting up when you're removing the top protective layer of the strips.

Hi! I saw there are websites selling only the glass panel(phoneremedies.com/collections/moto-z3-play-screen-replacement-kits/products/motorola-moto-z3-play-glass-screen-replacement-premium-repair-kit-xt1929-black) without digitizer and display itself. Is it even possible to separate glass from the display and replace it with new? My phone only has broken glass and touch & display work well. Also, originally, the display is Super AMOLED. If I buy from 3rd parties(like some links that you've mentioned here in comments), would these also be Super AMOLED? Since many of these say "LCD" in their description. Thanks in advance!

If its just the button I would check with a local repair shop, it should be a pretty inexpensive repair and if they break the screen during repair they're the ones liable to replace it not you. At least that what I recommend you do if you're not confident in opening the phone yourself.

some third party manufactures make them slightly different, I would just make sure that everything functions properly and that there arent any visible imperfections. If the device has issues with touch response of the lcd looks to dark or washed I would send it back.

Do you mean the LCD also being cracked? If so when you order the repair part both the glass and the LCD should be one part. I would not recommend lcd or glass only repairs on these phones because it can be very difficult and sometimes they dont end up working correctly. eBay is usually where you can find these parts just make sure you buy from a verified seller with a good warranty and return policy.

I would probably recommend taking it to your local repair shop that repair is anywhere from $149 to $199 but check to see who has the best customer reviews and warranty. We usually offer 90 days on our repairs but some repair shops could be as little as 24 hours so do your research before committing to a shop. The advantage is that if there is any issue the repair shop would be the one liable for any exchanges or rework needed instead of you having to pay for any other parts if there was any other issues.
