Hey I'm working on this exact same problem. I can not get that upper lever (that has the ball) on the intake side loose to drill a hole in it. How in the hell did you side that off?!?

it's held on with a metal retainer washer you need to pop off before it slides off

just use a flathead screwdriver and pry the clip off

@@billgoatgarage the clip isn't a problem. It's getting the lever to slide off the manifold to be held in my hand such as you've done.

is yours severely rusted? it's just plastic on a steel shaft apply some penetrating fluid and get a screw driver behind it

@@billgoatgarage no it's not rusted. I tried this and that. It was being a bugger. To be honest prying on old plastic parts is kind of nerve racking. I ended up going out and purchasing a right angle attachment for my drill. Then I threaded it through with a super long set of needle nose plyers. Works good nice hack my friend! I wish i doubled up the thin wire I used but there's more wire of this bit breaks.

Can it be done without taking anything off but the tuning valve arm? I drilled a hole in the arms portion but can't think of a way to drill a hole into the receiving end due to the location and size of my hand drill. I already ordered the replacement part but need a quick fix until it gets here in about a week.

I had to take off the pieces to drill them successfully. the one part is just held on with a press washer. if you get a screwdriver you can pop the metal retainer off and slide the piece off the shaft it sits in. then just do your best to secure it after.

What if you put a new one in and you still get the code ?saying intake manifold tuning valve stuck

then your intake manifold is possible full of carbon and it is actually stuck. can you manually move the linkage on the intake manifold? does it move? is it stuck? the linkage could also be broken in the manifold meaning the arm will move but the actual flaps in the manifold don't.

You were right about one thing. These things are JUNK. I have a 2014 Chevy Sonic and if I properly fix this issue, I will have more money in it than it is currently worth.. F that!! To anybody reading this, if you can hack it, get rid of your shit chevy and buy literally anything else.. Chevy has been making junk for almost 20 years now and it shows...

yes the hardest part will be getting the metal washer off to remove the one arm. just pry it off with screwdriver and use glue or silicone to reattach instead of the metal washer

@@billgoatgarage I was able to pull the arm off from the top and replace the control arm with a new one from amazon . i thought it was broke the ball wore out and popped out the socket i just popped the new one in , once i replace the control arm is there anything i need to do to reset the car?

My niece has the same car with the same P2076 code. The arm broke off, so I order a new arm and put it on there without any problems. Cleared the codes, and P2076 is still popping up. Throttle body cleaned also.

It's the actuator..that part the arm attaches to. You can get it at a junk yard or on ebay. I bought one for $25

@@ivanmoreno3918 yeah we replaced that, but wasn't the problem. It was the computerized motor on the throttle body. Plus it kept over heating anyway even after head and gasket replacement. We just junked it.
