Same, but only top left corner. My phone had dead screen soon after I bought it and shop repaired it. I'm guessing after they glued screen back together, that adhesive is coming undone. Plus I've dropped my phone few times on carpet from hips height, but modern phones should be resistant to this type of damage.

Hi, if the phone is not responsive and not even turning on I don't think you will be able to recover the data yourself. Unfortunately in this situation I think your only option would be to replace the screen or use a professional data recovery service.

I wouldn't put glue on any sensor, you just want a thin bead around the very edge, I made sure to stay away from the camera at the top as well.

Any excess glue should be cleaned off before it dries so there should be no risk to the LCD.

Yes you should, if the battery has swelled it's really not safe to charge the phone. If the battery goes it can easily start a fire.

Depending on the model of phone yes you can do this to glue the back on. Most modern phones the back is just glued on. Just make sure the back didn't pop off because the battery has started to swell or distort.

The glue just degrades over time, it is worth checking that the battery hasn't started to bulge as that would make the phone dangerous to charge.

My oppo a77 did this the face came away from the base before I could take it back to the shop it had fallen to the floor and split apart the ribbon between both ripped in half. I took it back to the shop but because the ripping had broke the phone was no longer under warranty. I had to get a new phone and asked the phone company if they be able to download the data to a new phone. Their answer was they don’t repair phones I would have to go to a tech firm. Went to the tech firm the girl told me this was the first time the face of a phone has fallen off the base and quoted $80 deposit and then at least 3 weeks to be sent away to try and retrieve the data. Suggest I try a different firm. What I can’t understand is the face is in good condition it’s just the copper ribbon between face plate and base is torn. Can we replace the ribbon.

It really depends on the model phone you have if you can just replace the ribbon. depending on the how the ribbon connects to the screen, you may need to replace the whole screen now that the ribbon is damaged. A lot of phones will also need a lot of disassembly in order to get access to where the ribbon connects to the main body of the phone.

Yes double sided tape will work. The only thing with tape is it might still let dust and moisture into the phone.

Would you believe that when I saw my phone case didn't fit right anymore, I assumed it was the case getting warped somehow? It's made of rubber. How would that happen? But so I assumed, ordered a new one. Took the old one off, never even looked hard at the phone itself, which has been in the case for ages. Put the new one on. Huh. Still not fitting right. Did the new one come warped? Pressed down, ah there ya go, fits fine now. I look at it later--damn, it's off again! Now I notice the back of the phone is coming loose from the screen. Well, who knew that was a thing? I'd just temporarily reattached it, since there's still glue, just not strong enough anymore. I bought a new case for absolutely no reason at all. Which will almost certainly not work with any phone I buy in future. Wonderful. I really should get a new phone. God, I hate getting a new phone. It's not the money. It's the transition. So many things you have to do before you've got it the way you want. Well. Maybe I'll try this hack. See how it works. My phone is a 2021 Moto G. Which I got in 2022. It's almost brand new! Just cause you mention the case not fitting, make sure the battery hasn't started to swell pushing the back of the phone away. The battery would then be dangerous to charge. I absolutely agree with you about the transition to a new phone, it's such a pain. I once left a new phone sit in the box for 2 weeks cause I just didn't want to sort everything onto it.

There didn't seem to be any issue with my battery, the glue just seemed to have let go. My phone is in a rubber case and gets dropped a lot so that could be the cause.

It's not something you have done which will have caused it. It happens for 2 reasons, sometimes the glue just seems to wear out and needs to be replaced or sometimes more worryingly it happens because the battery has started to swell and pushes the screen off. If the battery has started to swell you would need to stop using the phone as charging it would be dangerous.
