FYI, my lamp blew and sounded like a big boom of glass shattering, and scared me! I bought a new bulb via Ebay or Amazon for less than $20! I think it was about $15 and delivered to me. Very easy for me to replace... Hope this helps anyone needing a bulb! Super cheap and easy, no problems... And, I'm a chick!

@@carolynjohnson9763 call your Mitsubishi number and look on your bulb and it'll have a number on it if it's is the original bulb. Mitsubishi still has parts and they can also still direct you to certain people that can get the original parts of Mitsubishi. I know A man in Tennessee that works on mine if needed he gets from my bulbs

Picture was dimming so ordered new bulb and installed in bulb housing and then in television after cleaning fans. Worked fine for 1 & 1/2 weeks but now new bulb doesn't light. Had 2 older bulbs that I swapped out to test and they work fine but dim. Recommendation was possibly replacing ballast, but ShopJimmy doesn't stock anymore. Could it be a bad ballast eventhough the older bulbs work, albeit dim? Would hate buying off of Ebay since some parts are just junk and not worth the return shipping. Suggestions?

First of all I want to take time to thank you for posting these videos. They have been really educational. I have a mitsubishi WD-62626 I paid someone $300 to replace the lamp and they only gave 30 day warranty. My warranty has expired and my tv seems to be dark. I can see the images but the brightness level is almost all the way up but tv looks dark. What can I do?

Hello, I have a Mitsubishi WD-73640. I just replaced the lamp on the tv. It works great at first, then five minutes later while the tv is still on it starts to show different colors. You can here the sound and you can also see the picture on the tv. I turn off the tv and turn it back on and it works fine and then shortly after it will change colors again. I don't know if it is the lamp. The one I bought on eBay was really cheap.

I have a Sony KDF-E50A10 Projection TV. I cannot get a picture or sound. The lamp indicator light was blinking red on the front so I ordered another lamp and replaced it; however, it is still not working. The power light blinks green and then red and then goes out. Now I am thinking it might not be the lamp but maybe something else. It is a Wega we purchased in 2005. This is the first problem we have had with this TV. Can you diagnose this symptom? The screen suddenly went blank. Lamp works, color wheel still spinning. The screen is lit, but no menu appears when I push the buttons. DMD board? or Analog board? HLP5674WX/XAA There was no artifacting prior (squares or any strange imagery) all seemed normal. The TV powers up like normal, no blinking lights or anything... in fact, the 3 LEDs in the front are not lit. When I turn it off, the red standby light goes on like it normally does. It's as if the TV hasn't detected any error. Is that how it is with bad DMD boards?

No one has a trouble shooting video for the testing and the replacement for the ballast. Is there a safe method for troubleshooting this component? The bulb was replaced but the lamp does not come on and I checked the power bard and capacitors and plat switch. .

Basically to keep a lamp from blowing just place a fan in back of the TV blowing that will help the bulb iver heating easy fix...

I changed the Same lamp on my Samsung and after a couple of days it started to turn off again and the lights on the front of the TV would flash on and off and there is a clicking on and off sound coming from the lamp. After turning the power off for an hour and turning it back on It would work again. So I removed the lamp again to clean off the fan and noticed that one of the two plugs that the lamp assembly plugs into was melted as was the old lamp plug. Can this plug be easily fived?

I've replaced my bulb which was not an issue. I have since developed a couple of black spots on the inside of the screen which I believe to dust. Is there a method to removing the screen? Seems like years ago on the first TV I had like this a svc tech removed the screen and wiped down the inside rear mirror as well as the projection source with a soft cloth which I'd like to do. Any info on that?

I have a DLP Samsung HL-R5067W. I changed the bulb, and it wont power up at all. I get the LAMP flashing, 30-40 secs later TIMER and STANDBY would start flashing, too. All at the same time. I changed my lamp and now it (TV) only works for about 5 minutes before shutting down, giving me the RED solid light. It's clean on the inside and all filters have been cleaned as well. I've shut it down serveral times and hit the reset button according to the instructions. Mitsubishi 735 series WD-60735...ANY help would be much appreciated.

hey man. i have a 2008 Mitsubishi DLP that i replaced the lamp on, and also the ballast (i believe that's what it is). the small board next to the lamp. i put everything back, making sure the door switch is closed, and i can see the lamp isn't lighting. i get audio, but no picture. i checked for error codes, but they say it's running normally (code 1-2). could it be a bad lamp connection that would cause this? i'm starting to get exausted with this thing, i hope you can help. thanks, bill.

***** thanks for the quick response. i tested the wire coming from the ballast going to the lamp with my meter, and it read about 55 volts. does that sound right? also, i noticed that once i power up the TV, the fans all start, then stop after about 5-8 seconds. the LED in the front of the set is illuminated solid green like it's supposed to be. everything literally all seems good, except no picture, and the fans shutting down. the 2 most important things. thx again,- bill.

discount merchant lamp cost me $53 with a local pickup... also manu. recommends you disconnect that annoying white cable that connects - visible when you take that lamp cover out. disconnect before messing with anything otherwise you can short out your boards with static electricity on your fingers.

Is there a way to test a lamp, to see if it is bad or not? My lamp in my Samsung DLP was working fine. I had to replace the color wheel that shattered (only had B/W picture). Now the LED "lamp" light is blinking, and lamp won't light. I don't know if I got a bad color wheel, or what.

Look inside the lamp. Most of the time when they blow you can see shattered pieces of mercury laying around inside the bulb.

Thank you. I want to know if this particular tv is hard to fix or get parts for. I was told that these tv's parts are hard to come by and or have discontinued pieces. My tv looked great when you turned it on but what it would do is go in and out as far as the color is concerned. I know it is not the convergence but now you can not see it but you can hear it. The lamps in the back no longer come on so I am sure that they are the culprits and need to be changed out. Can you give me some insight please.
