Thank you so much brotha! You really have a talent for this stuff, super clear and concise, understood everything you said, and, it was actually really fucking good info. I have a VT 3.8L L67 supercharged 98 calais and this fixed the idle 100%. After spending 100 dollars on new leads and $150 on spark plugs, you solved my problem with $2 worth of petrol and a toothbrush lol...Legend.

@wickedxe12 жыл бұрын
thanks, and your absolutely correct. that's why it's important to not use brake fluid from a container that's been opened then stored for a period of time. and to change brake/clutch fluid regularly because it absorbs water and lowers the boiling point of the fluid(which when new should be around 200 deg C) which causes brake fade when the brakes get hot. which is a pain if you want to stop.

this blokes a classic, champion vid
@moylenetau12 жыл бұрын
Hygroscopic is the word you're after - Brake and clutch fluid are the same. This is why all containers have good seals to keep the fluid in the best condition - If the seal/cap for Brake or Clutch fluid is cracked/damaged/perished you should replace it.

Very good video. Glad it popped up when searching. I was about to look for an adjustment screw! Oops! ;) My 2004 VY Commodore Wagon has had a rough low idle problem since I got it 2 years ago. When turning the steering wheel or shifting and reversing it stumbles badly then recovers. The car originally had LPG fitted too. When they removed it they blocked the extra drilled injector manifold holes with bolts. So I guess also a potential source of a vacuum leak .-.-.
@KJPage6 жыл бұрын
Well I pulled my finger out tonight and cleaned the butterfly and idle sensor. The sensor had a bit of carbon but it wasn't too bad. The idle improved but I still get it stumbling when I turn the power steering hard while stopped. Any further ideas? .-.-.

I've got a VX commodore (anniversary model), and have just cleaned throttle body and idle air control valve (the valve on throttle body that he showed). We have also just cleaned air mass flow sensor (hint, can't just use any thing to clean it, need proper air mass flow sensor cleaner). Like he said in video, we ourselves have never touched idle screw that he advised not to touch), however, a mechanic that I took my car to not that long ago has played with the cable and screw. He had the cable to tight and has threaded the screw itself...hence why we never touched it Due to issues of car stalling, extremely rough idle, lack of acceleration sometimes or a sudden urge of power, sometimes hard start or not starting at all and at times there was a strong smell of fuel. Not the mechanic who played around with the cable and screw, I got mechanic who normally go through who did a diagnostic, which came up with codes (cam sensor, EGR valve and showed the rpms are way to low. Replace cam sensor and EGR valve. A lot of people are unaware that EGR should be cleaned every so often (admittedly, I was one of them), so maybe a video explaining and showing that

if the ecu senses a vacuum leak, the ecu compensates for the extra air by injecting more fuel; hence the reason why it idles higher than normal

Could be a number of things, Fuel pressure low due to: clogged fuel filter or a buggered fuel pump, A buggered Mass air flow meter. I would check the fuel pressure. A rubber ballet hit against the underside of the tank can show you if the pump is a problem although an inline pressure gauge (like the kit on ebay) is a 100% accurate way of diagnosing fuel system issues. Did it happen suddenly or slowly over time?

I'm buying ( stealing a dodge Ram with the viper spec motor! Lift kit, huge tyres. ( monster truck) I'm going to run over my vx commodore and my neighbours commodore. And any falcon/ commodore I see. My idle is high when cold. 950 to 1000 rpm after changing my tps? Piece of shit! Sorry mate. I'm frustrated! Lol. An oscilloscope video on commodore and falcon sensors would be great 👍. But with my budget I guess I'll be buying an E bike! 😆. Cheers mate 👍. I keep coming back to your videos.
@wickedxe2 жыл бұрын
The tps needs to be re-learned by the ecu, the high idle will calm down after a while; do a few wide open throttle take offs (like a freeway onramp) and that will take care of it. the scope isn't required as the sensor is basically a variable resistor (like a volume pot on an amp) and it is fed 5 volts by the ecu; the voltage varies depending on the TPS/ throttle position. The ecu is designed to self calibrate the tps sensor; you just need some WOT throttle take offs and it will be okay. Stick with the VX Commodore as anything from Chrysler is unreliable rubbish that you will want to burn in a very short amount of time of owning it
@dragan32902 жыл бұрын
@@wickedxe thanks for the quick reply! Does that mean that I have to do the 40 minutes relearn procedure? That's why I mentioned RAM? Purely for ramming or running over the commodore. Lol.
