Need advice on HP J4580 which is old but the problem that came up in printing a page that pertained to date at the upper right corner and a a straight line for the purpose of a signature signing. Upon printing the page, the year ends on the next line on the leftside of the paper. Same for the line which also ends up one line down and again on the left side of the paper at the bottom of whatever I have typed on the letter. Appreciate the help on how to fix or is the problem inside the printer and is time for replacement?

My ink was low in my HP Officejet 6600. So I removed the cartridges for replacement. I closed the door and went to purchase the replacements. I am ready to install the new cartridges. Now the screen says "Cartridge Problem" - Until cartridges are installed, make sure the printer is turned on to avoid damage to the printer. One or more cartridges are missing or damaged." When I open the cartridge door the carriage does not advance, thus not exposing for cartridge installation. How do I get the cartridge to advance? The note above says do not turn off the printer. And when I open the cartridge door it says, "The cover door must be closed to print. Check that it is completely closed.". Help!!! Again, how do I get to the cartridge carriage?

Figured it out from another vid. 1. While the unit is on and door closed, unplug the power from unit and wall outlet. 2. Reconnect both ends. 3. Push the power button. The unit must have reset and the cartridges were exposed. Reply

I have an HP Deskjet F4135 All-in-One printer. I just put in new ink cartridges since I was getting streaks. I checked the date on the box of new ink & it says warranty ends Nov 2017 so it should be good. When I print an email the colors are wrong,. The blue parts are red (which also happened with the old ink so I changed it), & some of the black parts are also red now. I did the ink cartridge alignment with the test sheet. Nothing helped so far. I don't know where to find the "clean printer head" on my computer. What next?

+Abdulrahim zakeer There is an option to select the scan area if you click on "more" option. You can save the scan area and hopefully in future it will scan the entire area, instead of selecting the limited area out of total scanned area. The fact is that the scanner scans the entire area however the software selects the best of out if (as per it's understanding) and displays for you to save, however don't save and first explore the steps I mentioned above.

Ink cartridges were changed four times and the horizontal lines continued to appear on subsequent prints. All of the posted repair recommendations were carried out several times and the problem persists. I'm very convinced that the problem is hardware __ faulty hardware. The problem started on the 13th month after purchase, just after the manufacturer warranty expired. The customer support gives a complete runaround, just to make it look like they're doing something. We won't purchase HP products any longer, we're very disappointed in the quality.

I got a printer in January printed like 2 pages and the ink is full , now it doesn't print at all, 1st was the colors printing very very light almost invisible, I remove the colors cartridge and let alone the black cartridge and it didn't print either, it came out a white page 😢

I have never gotten a good pictures if it isn't lines there's blue fade. If it isn't blue fade ther are streaks everywhere. And people with a $50 printer get better results.

HP printers are designed to NOT work properly with off-brand cartridges. HP cartridges are not perfect. And isn't it odd that solutions to print quality problems are managed by depleting your precious supply of HP ink.

@@HPSupport Your link doesn't help at all, I know what the page yield is supposed to be. I've printed maybe a dozen pages with colour, at the most, in the past year. Now, the amount of ink used whilst cleaning the print heads is a problem and the problem I currently have is that the heads are clogged. Several cleaning cycles have yielded no results. The black cart works fine. I only have issues with the colour. I suspect the ink has been used-up in the cleaning cycles. I can't afford to pay HP for my cleaning cycles which is exactly what I'm doing as I am an occasional user and therefore must run a cleaning cycle first, every time I print. If I don't want streaks.

Kindly do the following: 1) Turn on the printer, if it is not already on. 2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent. 3) With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the printer & wall. 4) Press the power button for 30 seconds. 5) Wait for 60 seconds. 6) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector. 5) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on. Note: To make sure the power source functions correctly, make sure the printer is plugged into an electrical outlet and not a power strip or surge suppressor. Let me know! Regards, HP Support
