How To Fix PS4 Microphone Not Working [Updated 2024]

The PS4 has proven to be a stable platform for several years now and yet many people continues to encounter issues with it. One of the common problems is that many people are finding out that their PS4 microphone is not working. There are several factors that can lead to this problem so you’ll need to do a number of troubleshooting steps in order to identify the reason for your own issue.
Before you dive in, bear in mind that the fixes in this guide are not absolute and may not work in every case. If none of the things that we suggest here won’t help at all, you may have to replace your headset.

if none of this works, click the PS button once and make sure the box for "mute all mics" isn't checked in the left-hand toolbar. That worked for me!

I can hear everything, but the MIC don't work, and when I go to adjust the mic volume it makes a weird buzzing noise constantly. The headset does work with mic in my phone. The store wanna send it back for repair, and I don't wanna be without a controller for an unknown long duration

I took my headset apart and saw one wire disconnected that had to be soldered back. I ended up using hot glue cause I don’t have soldering iron. In other words, if you have the same problem, you need a new headset unless you can repair it. The glue worked but I’m sure there’s safety reasons against it. I used glue from the side of nacho cheese can and melted it. Then I used the glue to hold the wire to its contact point. I don’t recommend this but I didn’t have to buy a new headset 🤷‍♂️

@@youtube__isaiah5207 i ended up just getting some specifically ps4 headphones w a mic you can get them at an okay price these days. I think most bluetooth are too advanced for the console now. Especially utilising the in built mic..

Only thing is that makes me insecure about it being controllers fault is that i have 2 and it doesnt work on both but both of them are very old and used they are old probably 3-4 years old.What do you think?
