OK- so I did a modified format of this and it worked. I chose to put the entire control pad assembly (the strip with facing on it) in the oven. I lowered temp to 185 and had it in there for 25 minutes. I removed let cool and reinstalled... it worked. Just finished a few minutes ago and unit is running as it should currently. Time will tell the real story as I believe Samsung has an issue with the door opening after cycle and causing moisture to infiltrte the touch pad. I will adress that with them shortly.

I pulled mine off and simply disconnected the board. Then I sprayed some contact/electrical cleaner into the connector. Plug and unplugged a couple times. Then I worked again. It may be just a poor connection due moisture. It is a washing machine after all.

Honestly the heat from the blow dryer got it to work

Did you still attempt to remove the chip from the sleeve before blow drying? Or did you point the blow dryer at the panel and hold it for some time? And for how long did you place the blow dryer on?
@623jnc25 күн бұрын
@@jayp115 I did not. I put the entire strip in oven for a longer time but at a lower temp setting.

Were you able to re-use the factory adhesive when reassembling?
@Harris0n112 ай бұрын
@@jennakevinl4100 not effectively. You will need some double sided mounting tape. Good luck!

Do you have a part number

It should be in the video description but also make sure you double check before ordering! Also, I’d never recommend ordering from Sears Parts Direct. Absolutely horrendous customer service, price and shipping times.
