I can’t find a video on this anywhere. My problem is when I start up a game it doesn’t crash or a permanent black screen shows up! It’s just a period of time like 5-10 seconds a black screen shows up then disappears and I can play my game. It’s just really annoying because when I close my game the same thing happens. @SpryViper @Cory llama sounds like a monitor thing. Are they HDR monitors? Switching between HDR / non HDR requires displays to "recalibrate", in a sense. Happens all the time on my Series X & Television.

What it does for me is that my game just goes black periodically for a second then goes back. Sometimes I see the cursor, sometimes I don't. It happened maybe twice playing Doom Eternal, but it's happening non stop in Halo Infinite. Happens occasionally in Skyrim too. I always hear the sound and the game itself continues as though nothing happened, like it's still running in the background. Only thing I haven't tried is the MSI Afterburner, but at this point I'm ready to toss the gpu out and buy a new one.

@@DavidRhyne Unfortunately, nothing has worked for me so far. My power supply is getting up there in years (apparently close to 8 now!), so I'm going to replace it and see if it helps. I moved my pc's plug from a surge protector to the wall directly and some minimal improvement though, which is part of why I've been leaning on power supply issues.

Could be something with your resolution, try putting it on windowed fullscreen. If that doesn't work try updating your graphic drivers. I don't think buying a new gpu will fix this...

@@fhxny7549 HP which is my PC provider said they wanted to test the software before I invoked my Warranty and got a new one. so what they had me do is download a brand new copy of windows 10 onto a USB, get into the pc's boot menu, delete all of the systems partitions after booting into the USB, and then loading/installing the new version of Windows 10. This ensured that all the software was good as brand new. **It actually worked for a bit and the problem was completely solved, but after a while of going back to playing my normal games, it reverted and I started having the problem again.**

@@chrisrandazzo30 I actually fixed mine, it was a drivers problem, I was running Game ready drivers when I was supposed to be running studio drivers because I don’t play game with my computer I do 3D works and create videos. Game ready drivers weren’t the best drivers for these specific types of work. I never had that problem again!

An under-powered Power Supply Unit (SMPS) that cannot supply enough power to the power demand of a Graphic Card can also cause a black/blank screen, as a computer technician and network engineer I've had my first hand experience with this problem . . at first I thought it was a buggy and outdated graphic-card driver so I uninstalled the drivers and clear all registry entries linked to the old drivers then installed the latest drivers from the NVIDIA website for the NVIDIA GTX 980 Ti 4Gb, but still this doesn't fix the problem. Then I found that my client was still the old power-supply-unit that comes bundled with her branded computer and it's output is only 250watts,and this leads to frequent black/blank screen while gaming because of an under-powered graphic-card, so I upgraded the power-supply-unit with a corsair 500watts and this solved her gaming issue and her gaming rig is running as stable as ever .

So my issue is, anytime I run any game, ( from steam or epic, etc. ) it constantly flashes a black screen, like if I'm interacting with the game it flashes a black screen every free seconds, it's not a constant black screen, and the game never freezes. check the mount of your graphics card, is it hanging down? is the not at the right side (like there for the ram where you clip that down) up? or still close to the mainboard? if last one give it a lil punch into the mainboard then it should *click* (important, it doesnt crack usually :D)

Your laptop issue is due to a thermal shutdown. .. .your laptop becomes overheated after 5 minutes and a thermal shutdown is initiated to prevent your laptop from getting spoiled. You should have a certified computer technician look into your laptop and clean all the accumulating dusts inside your laptop, the thermal paste/grease of the heat sinks of the processor and the graphic chip should be cleaned and apply a with fresh ones. Hey Big thanks for the video! My problem is with the game Predator Hunting Grounds and after about 5 minutes the screen turns balck and the system restarts. This happens all the time only with this game. I can play for example Godfall at highest settings in 4k without FSR with no crash. My specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x GPU:RX 6900 XT ASUS Rog Strix RX LC Mainboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B550M PLUS RAM: G. SKILL TRIDENT Z NEO 3600mhz 16D 32GTZNC Timings IN DOCP: 16-19-19-39 at 1.35 V SSD's: M.2 NVME 1TB Corsair MP600 for system and M.2 NVME MP510 2TB for games PSU: Corsair RM850x Noctua NH-U12S Redux CPU cooler Temps are VERY cool all the time CPU not over 60 degrees, GPU not over 70 degrees. I had this issue also few times in dying light at 4k but other games I've testet like Tekken 7, Godfall or DOOM Ethernal it stays stable all the time. Will test more graphics intensive games soon and can tell you more about this issue. Thank you man!

Hello! I have a newer PC (3 months old) that after a month has started acting out whenever I play more demanding games. I open up a game and I instantly get a black screen like a crash, fans run at full speed before slowing down (monitor says 'no signal' then goes completely black) or it allows me to play for 30 minutes to an hour sometimes before getting a black screen. However, the PC stays on, it doesn't shut off and works as normal. Most of the times I can still hear sound from the game. This only happens on more demanding games as YT and lighter games work perfectly fine. I also want to mention that the demanding games worked fine before, but after a while the PC started acting out. The only way to get it back to normal is to force it to shut down and turn it on again. I can't bring back the display at all through the keyboard. I was wondering if you may have any idea what it could be? I tried a bunch of different solutions, but none worked, so I really don't know what else to do about it and it has just been stressful honestly as I would just like to know what EXACTLY is the issue. The drivers are up-to-date and so are the Windows 10 updates. I have tried uninstalling the GPU and reinstalling it, but didn't fix the issue. Tried taking out the GPU & placing it back. Tried getting the RAM out and placing it back. Tried cleaning out the dust. Tried a bunch of software-related solutions. Stress tests went well. The LED' & fans from the GPU and power supply work. Power supply is 750W and running a 3070 GPU. Max CPU temp on the more demanding games is 50°C (usually lower) & max GPU temp is 80°C, so I don't believe it is related to overheating. Hi! I have had the exact same problem, thats why i created this video. Have you overclocked anything? If you are not sure just power off the power supply and remove the CMOS battery from your motherboard for 5 minutes. Then put it back in and turn the power on. Once you have done that your motherboard BIOS settings will be reset. Make sure to leave the settings like this and test wether you are still getting a black screen or not. Please keep in mind that overclocking with software will not be affected by this (like msi afterburner). So make sure to reset them aswell. Let me know if it worked!

@@TechSplain Hello! Thank you for your informative answer! I appreciate it! Unfortunately, it still does the exact same. I took out the CMOS battery for 5 minutes and then placed it back. The BIOS settings have been reset and I also reset MSI Afterburner settings to default, but as soon as I went to test out a game, the screen went black again straight away. I'm wondering whether it could be a hardware issue?

@@lovelyzpanda4937 Hello! This could indeed be a hardware issue. Have you watched the first part (in the description) of this video? There is a certain fix in there that makes you change your power settings, that one seemed to work for a lot of people. Hope this will help you out!

@@TechSplain I have, however still the same, but thank you! What do you reckon it could be if it's hardware? I was thinking about PSU, RAM or GPU, however PSU & RAM are new and shouldn't cause troubles this soon I think. The GPU isn't new, so maybe it was faulty? I was thinking of trying to get my hands on a random GPU and switch it out just to test out if it is indeed the GPU that's causing the issue.

@@lovelyzpanda4937 What power supply are you using? Does it deliver enough power for the GPU? Or maybe your gpu is overheating, check the temperatures.

Depends on what gpu you have, but for most cases it is safe.

I couldn't even run a game without the pc crashing, the screen goes black and the gpu fans start spinning like crazy, it became like that since i updated to the latest drivers, even at idle my pc would crash, what i did to fix it was uninstalling the gpu from device manager, downgraded the gpu driver, and replugged the power connectors on my graphics card, i have been playing non stop for 3 hours and it seems that it is fixed, hope i can help someone

My fix was doing msi aferburner, but doing that decreased performance ofc. Another fix was taking apart your gpu and replacing your thermal paste and, cleaning out dust, along with the rest of the pc. hair blower is your friend.
