@@ilovesocialstudies really, i think its a problematic rusted little component that is making the CPU looses power. What kind of solved was making a down grade on the MSI Afterburner a little. But it really depends sometimes it stays on all day and sometimes it turns off all of the sudden. Doing a cleaning on the board seems to help a little but did not solved entirelly

@@hugorezende199 Hey bro, I decided to replug everything to make sure that everything was plugged in. I then moved my graphics card down one pcie slot because I think that it was gathering too much heat from the CPU. PC has been running super smoothly and I think either one of my wires weren't plugged in or moving the GPU down has seemed to help it cool off.

This video is one of the only ones that properly explains this and actually sheds light on this issue! My AMD 6700XT would randomly cause my monitor to lose signal at random times and I would have to force shut down my pc. This happens at least once every 2-3 days for me. @@brxton1047 Mine used to do these black screens whenever my pc was idle or on KZbin. Very rarely will it ever happen whenever I’m playing games or doing tasks. If your case sounds similar to mine, then doing this should fix it! So far I have had no problems.

I have set the delay to 10, as the video suggested, but this actually INCREASED the occurrences of this problem. I then set it to 100 and haven't had an issue since (for now, fingers crossed). Admittedly, my card is a older than the mentioned 3090 and I only recently startet to have this problem. My guess is, that my card is worn out and doesn't react fast enough anymore.

It's been a few days now after having done what you've shown in the video, and it seems to have done the trick. It would never black screen while playing games, but it would when browsing the internet. Chrome would just freeze up and boom no signal, only a hard reset would make my PC work again. I had a hard time finding a video, reddit thread, etc. that described my issue, but this did it. I hope others having this issue finds this video, and that it helps them as it did me. Thank you very much for your help 😊 EDIT: It doesn't seem to be fully fixed, might mess around and try with a value of 60 instead of 10. It does happen less often however, so still an improvement. EDIT: It still wasn't completely fixed. So I did some more research and read it could potentially be a RAM issue. I tried both my RAM sticks individually and my PC works just fine with either one, but I decided to swap around the RAM sticks (ITX motherboard, so only have 2 RAM slots) and that seems to have done something. Monitor hasn't gone dark since. Did experience a complete system freeze the other day when playing CS2, but that's the only thing since the swap.

Just tried the fix, testing my desktop after 30 min and will update in a day or 2 to see if it works. Edit: If you play games on RIOT CLIENT and you have VANGUARD ANTICHEAT installed, it might cause this monitor problem. I KNOW it sounds odd but I've tested it twice so far, Vanguard anticheat will cause my monitor to black screen.

@corb_lox3794 I set it to 60 from 10. It ran all night just fine. The next day it crashed again. I just swapped over my gpu power cables to a new one last night and its been running great since. If you have a new gpu power cable and a new displayport/hdmi for your monitors. Try swapping those. Assuming your drivers are updated and bios is good!

Did this solution about a week ago, worked for the first reboot afterwards for a few hours, then tried to use Opera and it crashed and kept crashing right after the login screen lol. I am having this issue now. I don't have that registry and didn't want to add it because I wasn't sure. Thanks for showing me how! My issues started in mid-December when NVidia had a driver update. Never had a problem before that, but it's been hell since. I don't want to spend money on a new card and still have the same issue. I had never heard of a TDR timeout issue but it makes sense. @@Stridsvagn so far nothing has happened, but I’m going to try one of my heavier load games later and see what happens then. I play lost arc a lot and that’s the one that usually gives me the most issue. Same thing with Final Fantasy seven remake or the Sims four. Anything with a heavy graphic load. Thing is the card is not overheating. And the temperature is usually 35 or 36 Celsius CPU temperature is also normal. I honestly think it’s a corrupted driver issue. And if it’s the driver, wouldn’t Micro Center computers also have the updated drivers for everything in their tech area? Really wishing I could take this card somewhere and have it tested by someone who knows video cards to verify that the card is actually defective before I shell out money for a new one. Very frustrated that I spent a lot of money on this computer less than four years ago. Only to have this happen so soon after. I’m really feeling gypped and I will likely not buy any more prebuilt computers from anyone. I should’ve just built my own, which is what I will do it some point. Back in the early 2000s I was in IT tech-support and I used to build systems all the time. But these new cards and things I don’t really know much about because I changed fields in 2004 so I no longer do anything with hardware /software since.

few weeks ago with Rx580 + B350 + Ryze 5 1600 when i played R6 , and only in ranked (weird) the monitor lost signal and the GPU wnetillation starts like crazy. New windows after some test i bought new motherboard ( this time B450). About one week it was ok, but the started again, no signal + ventillation crazy. New version of hunt showdown forced me to change some parts. Ryzen 5 5600x + rtx 4060 was placed. 5 days everithing fine. Than started to do the same , but now after starting the pc, so no game, only mozzila. Yesterday 4 times in a raw (2 with nothing run, 2 when started the game) After i watched your video i changed from 2 to 10 the TDR delay and i played like 2-3 ours :) lets hope its ok now. PS: it will be nice to see a video whit the moment when the problem exist to compare with my situation.

when my display shuts off i still hear the audio and then it sounds like a windows notification happens the computer is still on and I have to manually restart it I checked the event log and everytime before it says critical for unexpected shut down it says event id 56 acpi 2 will this fix this issue

@@gus.804 yes but I’m not sure exactly what fixed it because I did 2 things. 1st I reseated the gpu and 2nd I removed the back panel of the case and there was a connector that wasn’t fully connected looked like a fan plug I just removed the old electrical tape made sure it was pushed in without bending or breaking the prongs and retaped it and now it has yet to shut off on me. The last fix I was going to try was replacing the psu because I read online that after power surges the psu can get messed up even though I’m connected to a surge protector

Iam having almost the same issue, what happened was that my ssd died. So I got a new one. After installing windows the first thing I did was install gpus drivers and it crashed but system was running. Long story short after multiple troubleshoots I manage to install the drivers. Hey, I stumbled onto this while just googling. I have an issue where I'll lose signal and either the screen will be completely black or it will flicker with visual static. The machine is still on and running etc. Infact when the screen is black I still get audio. It tends to happen when something changes. If I toggle HDR on / off or updating graphics driver etc. I have nothing to indicate a hardware error or driver error inside event viewer or reliability monitor, so I'm wondering is it possible the HDMI cable I'm using is just dying? Again, the only time I actually lose signal is when something is changing with the display. For instance it happened last night after updating to Nividias latest drivers. I did win + x then u u to shutdown, once rebooted I reinstalled the driver to make sure it was fine and that time it went through no problem. Edit: It wasn't the cable. Reseated the card and will wait and see. I'm getting a dwm exe crash which then disconnects the card. The errors didn't show until last night not sure why exactly. I'll add the TdrDelay if it happens again.

I've been having this with the Gigabyte 1060GB 3G for a few months - just started doing it. It was mostly happening with KZbin but just now happened watching a FB video. All I've been able to achieve so far is pulling out the HDMI cable for a few seconds then plug back in. You hear Win disconnect then reconnect and the display comes straight back up without needing a full reboot.

Giving this a shot, thanks for the video. Also hot-tip for the "Might have to repeat the process" disclaimer, you can click the TdrDelay key, hit File, and hit Export. Run the file if you believe it was removed, saves some time. You can also make use of BATCH to check after an update so you can run the file. You can make it 10x more automated but I am too lazy, here's a quick pointer though! REG QUERY HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers /V TdrDelay Edit #3454235234234: Make sure to edit that reg file to only add that one specific entry.

I've had this issue with my system since the 2080 and now 3080. Figured it was a Windows issue, since the GPUs are powerhouses when gaming. My signal keeps flashing when it doesn't like different apps or windows in front - with the mouse cursor over the app.

hey I have a prebuilt that i had bought last year in july from cyberpowerpc, its a Nvidia Geforce RTX 4060 Ti AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8-core processor , and i've been having some issues with it lately just randomly blacking out after a few minutes or longer while playing doom eternal. The montiors will black out but the audio would play and the pcs fine. I just don't know how to resolve this issue. I'm afraid to try anything off of youtube cause last time i did. my pc completely just stopped working. But besides that, I recently got it back from sending it for a repair at the company and it was just fine until a month goes by and here i am with another issue. if you can explain in a bref way i would really appreciate it. I'm very new to using a gaming pc so im not very tech savy.

I had this problem with MSI afterburner and a 4090 zero fan mode. I deleted both and my games stopped crashing (no signal monitor)

Can anyone explain why this setting actually helps, and what causes the GPU to crash? Because without the TdrDelay dword value, the PC seems to crash under load. It's also very game dependant and mainly happens in games that are either "not optimized' or running vulkan/directx12 and are "heavily optimized for gpu acceleration". Basically meaning, it's the games that use the most they can out of your GPU that will cause the Crash So far this has happened to me in Ready or Not, Raft, CS2, And Arena Breakout Infinite. It definitely happens in other games too, but this is as far as i remember Edit: Fixed by changing the memory clock speed from 3200Mhz to 2666Mhz because my AMD Ryzen 5 1600 doesn't support higher than that.

@@yournemesis9071 so kind of yes, For me it's because my CPU "Ryzen 5 1600" doesn't support RAM speeds or rather memory clock higher than 2666Mhz. My setting in Bios was 3200Mhz before, and after i changed it to 2666Mhz, i now rarely ever get crashes. They happen, but much much less frequently, and now it's more random than ever, before it would happen whenever something is loading inside some game, be it in CS2 or any other game. Check your CPU's memory compatibility and the speeds of Memory's clock. Try changing it as i did if you have similar RAM.

I just got updated mine from a service center and they said they had more clients with same problem and after doing that their problem was solved I am downloading games right now lol I will let you know if mine is fixed

@@yournemesis9071 before that I tried different types of GPU driver and I had only problem with wuthering waves later after installing amd adrenalin drivers I had same problem with valorent so I think it happens because of messing with these things or not having updated windows, bios, drivers

Testing out a new theory. I may have simply been the victim of GPU droop i.e. the GPU may not have been fully inserted into the PCIe slot because of the cards weight (RTX 3080 Trinity OC).

After removing and re-inserting my video card, I have yet to have another black screen. For awhile there I was having one not very long after I initially booted my PC every day. Nothing happened today... so far. Think I need to invest into a GPU support bracket/brace.

Just tried this and unfortunately isn’t working for me. I just upgraded my graphics card a couple of weeks ago (originally I thought that was the issue) and it worked semi okayish until the past couple of days. 10 means 10 seconds, so it's not quite a difference. Use the one of your preference, as said here, 10 should be fine.
