How to Fix Stuck 3rd Row Sequoia Seat

Thanks for the video! One of the seats on my 2007 Sequoia was stuck and I couldn't get it out. Your video helped me figure out how to get it out, and now I am going to make the modification you came up with. Thanks!

In addition to the stretched cables, I found bent brackets opposite the rear cable balls, I bent them back and now the release on both seats works properly, even without adding spacers to the cables. I used a large flat-head screw driver and a small sledge hammer to gently bend the brackets back in shape. You need to turn the seats upside down and remove the plastic covers to access the brackets, but when you work the red lever the problem will be obvious. blee.

Thanks for your video. This helped me discover the problem, the cables have stretched over time and do not fully release the jaws at the front of the seat, I'm thinking of simply swaging on a spacer behind the ball to shorten the cable and get them working properly again, I'll let you know if it works (maybe a fishing weight?). In the meantime, after you pull up on the red lever you can stick a flat-head screw driver into the front jaws and open them enough to pull the seat out. This does not work if the back of the seat is raised more than an inch, this causes the jaws to stay closed.

I was thinking about that paper tape and how it wouldn't be strong enough then you hit zip tie part and it all made sense

Your ldea is a great but my problem even when cable is pull as far as cable will pull back and bottom hook or lock will not fully release your idea is great for any other person

i noticed the latch assembly on these seats are terrible. mine were bent quite a bit. i tried to straighten them best i could but they still aren't perfect. i'm afraid to put them back in for fear i won't be able to get them out. Took an hour to get them out the first time. Any advice or fix for repairing the latch assembly on the bottom?

Just lift the res handle and center handle and lift seat about a 1 inch or less and pull back

You can just lift the red handle and pull out the seat easily.
